V4L offers a variety of e-cigarette battery types and sizes; each with their own set of advantages and disadvantages. The three different sizes are shorty, regular, and extra long; and all sizes are available in automatic and manual styles.
AUTOMATIC VS MANUAL
An automatic battery works just like a traditional cigarette, simply attach a cartomizer and puff. The battery contains a pressure-sensitive switch which activates by inhalation. Automatic batteries are recommended for new users because the experience is most similar to smoking traditional cigarettes. They are not sealed and have smaller airholes for a slightly tighter draw. Sometimes a primer puff is needed at first. This is just a quick one to two second puff to get the cartomizer warmed up.
A manual battery has a small button on the side that the user needs to push to activate it. The main advantage of manual batteries is that they tend to warm up the cartomizer quicker, and provide vapor right away. Manual batteries never need primer puffs. Manual batteries are completely sealed and have larger airholes for a tighter draw.
The choice between automatic and manual batteries is one of personal preference. The best thing to do is try each type.
BATTERY SIZE
V4L offers batteries in three sizes: shorty, regular, and XL. All three sizes are available in automatic and manual. The basic difference in the sizes is how long the battery lasts before needing to be recharged.
The shorty battery with a cartomizer attached is about as long as a traditional cigarette. The battery life is about two to three hours depending on usage. The short size is convenient, but the short battery life means that it will need to be recharged throughout the day.
The regular battery with a cartomizer attached is about the length of a traditional 120 cigarette. The battery life is about three to five hours depending on usage. It is the perfect in-between solution for those who are looking for good battery life, but don’t want it to be too long. Most users can get through the day with two fully-charged regular size batteries.
The XL battery with a cartomizer attached is about five and a half inches long. The main attraction of the XL battery is the outstanding battery life. They last eight or more hours between charging cycles.
When choosing a battery, first decide upon an automatic or manual style, then decide the size: shorty, regular, or XL. Or just do what many V4L fanatics do, and get a few different types and sizes to try them all out!
