Understanding PG/VG Ratios in E Juice
The world of advanced vaping can seem a little overwhelming at first, with all the numbers and letters involved in vape batteries, mods and e liquids. One of the biggest questions I get is, “what do the PG/VG ratios mean?” Most e liquids contain a mix of propylene glycol and vegetable glycerine. Some e juices are made with only vegetable glycerine, and are a great option for vapers who have a propylene glycol allergy. Other e liquids have a specific PG/VG ratio that can affect everything from throat hit and flavor intensity to vapor amount and cloud massiveness. Let’s take a look at what’s behind PG/VG ratios and how to decide which balance is right for you.
At Vapor4Life, many of our e juices have a higher content of propylene glycol in their PG/VG ratio, but we also offer VG-only e liquids. Our new line of Ultimo e liquids have a 60/40 VG/PG ratio to give you a smooth flavor and thick, lingering clouds. These juices are perfect to use with our new vape mods and tanks. Higher Propylene Glycol (PG) Content
Choose a juice with a higher PG content to get a more intense throat hit and richer flavor. Higher PG levels are a great choice for:
- Smokers who recently switched to vaping and want a strong throat and chest hit that simulates smoking
- Flavor chasers who dig strong e-juice flavors
- Stealth vapers who want to produce minimal vapor
Higher Vegetable Glycerine (VG) Content
If you like chasing clouds, opt for a higher VG content, such as 60/40 VG/PG or higher, in your juice. These e liquids are generally thicker than blends with a higher PG content. Here’s a little more info on e juices with higher VG content.
- Ideal for vapers who want a smooth, subtle throat hit
- Great for cloud chasers who use vape mods and want to stir up gigantic clouds
- Helpful for vapers who are allergic to propylene glycol
When it comes to choosing the right ratio of propylene glycol and vegetable glycerine, it really depends on what type of vape experience you want. Do you prefer a higher PG content, or are you in the high-VG camp? Let us know in the comments. Happy vaping!
