V4L Insider Tips: How to Fill a Smileomizer Right Every Time
I have a confession to make. I’ve been working at Vapor4Life for about five months now, and I just started filling my Smileomizers properly. It’s not that nobody ever showed me how to fill a Smileomizer. That was one of the first things I learned here. That and the fact that Cinnablaze is my favorite e juice flavor. The problem was that every time I got a new Smileomizer or a new bottle of e juice, I’d be so darn excited to try the thing that I overfilled my cartomizer. My method was pretty sloppy. I would take the mouthpiece off my Smileomizer, open my e liquid, and squirt a bunch in. Then, I would wait half a second, anxiously wiggling in my office chair before repeating and repeating until about 3,458 ml (slight exaggeration) of juice came out of the bottom of the cartomizer. Our founder showed me the error of my ways.
The revelation happened when I was in Steve Smilin Milin’s office. For those of you who don’t know, Smilin is a former smoker, one of the earliest members of the E-Cigarette Forum, and an expert on all things vape. He took one look at the Lisa Marie method of filling a Smileomizer, and he just about fainted (and he doesn’t faint easily). He then proceeded to show me exactly how to fill a Smileomizer, and why it’s super-important to TAKE. YOUR. TIME. It made a world of difference. I got a great throat hit, rich and consistent flavor, and my Smileomizer lasted a lot longer between refills. I like you guys so much, I’m going to share these insider tips with you.
What Happens If You Don’t Fill a Smileomizer Properly
Filling a Smileomizer–or any polyfill-based cartomizer, really–the wrong way can result a lot of unpleasantness. Here’s a quick rundown of what you can avoid by learning how to fill a Smileomizer the right way.
- Dry hit
- Burnt-tasting e juice
- Excess liquid
- Gurgling sound
- Smileomizer runs out quickly
How to Fill a Smileomizer the V4L Way
Patience, patience, patience is key when filling your Smileomizer. These things weren’t made overnight. Instead, Smilin spent four years overseas and tried hundreds of other cartomizers to learn what worked and what didn’t. He discovered that nothing gave him the throat hit, chest hit and flavor he wanted, so he set to work making the Smileomizer. Just as the Smileomizer took time to invent, it takes a little bit of time to fill a Smileomizer. You want to make sure e juice soaks into every part of the cartomizer and reaches the coil, so it can wick effectively. We’re talking maybe five minutes, tops. The important part is to take your time with each step, and to let the e liquid soak in between steps.
- Unscrew the mouthpiece from the Smileomizer; place the Smileomizer upright on a tissue or napkin
- Squirt e juice directly onto the polyfill fiber until the juice reaches the bottom of the connector threading
- WAIT and let the e juice absorb into the polyfill before you start filling again
- Repeat steps #2 and #3 until you see e liquid on the tissue. Roughly three times for small Smileomizers, five times for large Smileomizers
- WAIT and let the Smileomizer sit for about 5 minutes. This is the tough part because I always wanna just vape it!
- Reattach the mouthpiece and blow excess liquid into the tissue
- Clean off excess liquid and connect the Smileomizer to your vape battery
- Vape on!
