Air Bubbles in my tank?
Sorry if this has already been addressed somewhere else. I looked briefly and didn't find anything.
Recently my tank has started having air bubbles in the juice. I have not had any leaking or any noticeable performance issues... maybe its a sign of something failing? or is it just normal and no worry..
Any advice would be appreciated.
It is normal (and neccessary!) for air bubbles to come up from the holes as juice flows from the tank into the carto. If this doesn't seem to explain what you're seeing, can you go into more detail about when the bubbles appear, how many they are, if they go away, etc?
Usually one or two pretty big ones about x4 the size of the hole in the carto. They are there pretty much all the time lately. They will go away if I tilt the tank around a bit but, they come right back so I usually don't mess with it.
I don't remember anyone else bringing this up. It sounds normal to me, but I am interested in seeing if this means anything.
Hmm, there is certainly a pressure difference between the inside of the tank and the outside, and this is what is used to draw liquid into the carto from the tank. Air must of course flow back the other way to make up for the liquid that is leaving, which is where the air bubbles come from... (And the air bubbles I see are generally about that same size; not huge, but yeah about 4x bigger than the little carto holes.)
I have seen some threads regarding issues of "siphoning" with tanks, but I'm not sure what the problem was. Given the word "siphoning", I'm forced to assume the carto is somehow drawing more than it should, and then leaking down the wick tube or something, but I don't know for sure what that problem is.
Obviously if air is coming in like that, juice is leaving to make room for it. Where is that juice going? If you sure you aren't leaking, then I don't think you have anything to worry about at all.
Yup no leaking at all. So I am just going to chalk this up to "normal" I know my carto is on its last legs almost through 30ML of juice with it.. I hope my new gear comes soon in the mail before it dies :(
I can tell you why mine leaked! I put the carto in the wrong end. I forgot about the end that was "recessed". Pffffft! Let my screw ups be a lesson for ALL of you! "Don't do it like Lady does it!"
You should be fine if you follow that rule.
Oh no Lady!! Glad you figured that one out! Lol!! You are too funny!
The bubbles most certainly are normal, or you would be vaping the polyfill instead of the juice :)
Now as for the size of the bubbles, depending on juice viscosity, they could be smaller or bigger, my guess....
Are they apparent when drawing from the PV, or at random?
Are you going through juice quicker than usual?
Like stated above, if there is no leaking and it tastes fine, I see no problem, I dry hit my tanks every so often to see 'bubbles' :D

Ms. Smokey what juice are you using? Thicker juices like peace maker will make the air bubbles seem larger than they really are because they get caught under the surface of the juice, thin ones like smilin premium you only notice the bubbles as they first escape the holes as your drawing.
