Post Which batteries to use with tanks?

I got my tank today and after several hours of trying to get it to work with my manual battereis and passthru with no luck, I tried it on my auto battery and it works fine, I dont understand what the problem is. Can someone PLEASE help me understand what I am doing wrong?

Which manual batts do you have? Single logo ash cap? Titan? The 1.5 ohm dual coil cartos that come in the tanks have trouble working on the older ash cap batts. I could be wrong but the manual stealth and diamond and all of the Titan batts should work with them.

One other thing you can look at besides batts are the replacement cartos. Personally I use the 2 and 3 ohm single coil replacement cartos in my tanks and they work great on my batts and PT.

    +1 to Ms. Harmony

Mammajo (guessing Ms.?) the king diamond and stealth manuals (vapor titan and non-vapor titan) work with the 1.5ohm tanks 97.4 percent of the time. Remember 1.5ohm dc cartos pull a lot of amperage, the pt will only work with them on the wall adapter, and that is percentage is very low (1 out of 3). At 5v, a 1.5ohm dc will need 3.33a to function, the V4L wall adapters are only rated for 2.1a. That doesn't mean they won't run higher, but 2.1a is the guaranteed amperage output.

    tank gets hot

OMG I can't believe I can finally gain entrance! Thanks V4L!!!! Okay, now for my issue: I expected the tanks to drain the battery faster than while using the carts, but I didn't expect it to get hot. I'm using manual batteries of varying lengths, but my manual x-long seems to heat it up the quickest. Is there something wrong with the tank or is this to be expected? Thanks

Welcome Tallchic! I'm glad you gained entrance!! Are you using the 1.5ohm dual coil carto that came with your tank? If so then yes, they do get hot. At least with my limited knowledge of electricity and limited use of the 1.5 dc cartos that is how I understand it. You might want to consider either a higher ohm replacement carto, not chain vaping or having 2 identical batts/tanks set up so you can switch between the two. Any of those fixes should prevent the tank from heating up enough to make you uncomfortable or burning up your cartos. Because of the lower resistance of the cartos as well as the dual coils it is going to get hotter than others.

+1 on Harmony's response; higher ohm cartos, and having at least 2 to switch between is very helpful. I'm a chronic chain vaper, so I'm well familiar with this issue.

Also, if you're using the 3.5ml tanks, the 6ml tanks seem to cool better in my view as there is more juice to act as a 'coolant'.

Mamajo: In the event that any of the above is really confusing, let me paraphrase as follows. The pass-through (PT) will only work (for me, anyway) with a single coil (SC) carto, either 2.0 or 3.0 ohms. I seem to have the best luck with the SC 3.0 on the PT. The carto that comes with the tank is a dual coil 1.5, which will work on a Titan or Stealth battery, but not the PT. Also, I'm talking using the PT with a wall adapter; mine will not work with a tank in the car with that adapter. Hope this helps.
