Old user returning! =D
Howdy folks. I first purchased Vapor4Life about 3 years ago. I used it for a solid 2 months and then kicked right back to the real thing. Now here I am again going to give it another try.
The main thing is... so much has changed since I purchased my kit.
I was reading around and it seems these "tanks" are the way to go. I assume they are just like the cartridges you use to get(and prob can still get).. Im just not sure how I know which to get.
My kit came with 3 batteries, 2 autos and a manual.
The autos are solid black with and led tip.. no Vapor4Life anywhere on it.. the manual is white with gold Vapor4Lifes all over it and a led tip.
Inside one of the charging carry cases I got at the time it says MODEL: 808E-Pack.
Im smoke a pack of Marlboro Menthol full flavor a day, and looking to break out of that. So any recommendations as replacement strengths would be great too!
Im glad to be back and any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
Hello and welcome back!
I would agree that tanks are 'the thing' right now; whether they're right for you at this moment in time is the question I'd like to help you figure out though.
What was it that caused you to stop the first time you tried? Any issues/frustrations with the equipment, or was it just life stuff? If it's equipment issues, let us know what and we can see what the best direction to go is.
If it was life stuff (no need to share!), and you just are interested in checking out tanks, here's a quick skinny:
The tank is basically a tube that holds liquid, with a slightly modified carto running through the center of it. The main advantage of the tank is that you can put either 3.5ml or 6ml of liquid in in one filling, and thus make it a lot longer without needing to top off or refill.
There's a tiny learning curve when you first start out, learning how to correctly fill/refill them, initial priming of a new carto, how to drain out the juice when you have a problem, and how to remove/replace the carto when the time comes... There are many excellent videos on this stuff on SnowDragon's Youtube Channel: Click here to go see them
Other than filling, you need to understand the different cartos that come in tanks as they are a lot more variety than the WOW Carts and Cool Carts you may have ordered in the past from Vapor4Life. There are several different ohm ratings available, and two different styles: Single Coil and Dual Coil. Single Coil is just like the regular cartos. Dual coil ones have two, of course, which has the advantage of producing more vapor, and really bringing out the flavor of some juices, but the disadvantage of drawing large amounts of current, which drains batteries more quickly, and makes them incompatible with some.
Since you ordered 3 years ago, you have the classic Vapor4Life 'Ashcap' style batteries. Given their age, and the better technologies that have come out since, I recommend getting new batteries and a new charger (or another starter kit) (the old charger can overcharge and damage the newer batteries). The new battery types are King Diamond, Stealth, and Titan. They feature newer ICs, better battery cells / life, and many other improvements over the older models. You will need these if you want to use tanks.
If you are interested in what has come out beyond that, they also have batteries here called the EGO which is a bit larger in diameter and looks nothing like an analog, but have even longer battery life.
In closing, I wouldn't recommend tanks unless you are the type that likes to tinker, or expect to vape more than 3ml per day or so... In the end it is of course an individual decision for each of us; I tried to give perspective based on my experience and some assumptions on where you are at. Forgive any mistaken assumptions on our part; clarify what you'd like to know more about and we're here to help. :D
Hello Skoad! Welcome to the forum and welcome back to vaping! I am also on my second go round with vaping. Good luck to you! You can do it!
You have some pretty old batts, like Blue I also agree that you should get some diamond or stealth or titan batts. If you do decide to get tanks make sure you get manual batts. They are harder to kill with juice leaks. You will need the 808 threaded tanks and replacement cartos are a must! I also recommend getting a Passthrough so you don't have to worry if all of your battereis run out of charge. Plus, you can vape at 5v witch is very satisfying imo.
We can only recommend nic strengths, you have to figure out what's right for you. I suggest getting juice in 18mg and 24mg to start out with to see which one works better for you. Go higher or lower depending on how you feel. If you like minty flavors I highly recommend Peacemaker Peppermint (USA juice line) and if you like candy banana flavor I love the Banana Breeze (also USA juice line). They are both great mint flavors. The Peacemaker is a nice cool peppermint and the Banana Breeze is candy banana with a nice mint twist. There is also a Java Mint (USA again) if you are into coffee flavors! It's good to vape more than one flavor so your tastebuds don't get bored. If you are looking for a tobacco flavor then I recommend trying out the tobacco sampler packs in different strengths to test out different flavors and strengths. Once you find a juice you like and read the above thoughts by Blue then you can decide whether you want to move to tanks and which juice you want to purchase. You can definitely still get cartos!! It's the best way, imo, to try out flavors before committing to a whole bottle. The USA juices don't come in cartos, but they do come in convenient 7ml sampler bottles so you can try them out before you buy a whole 30ml bottle of something you may not like. I definitely recommend any of the sampler packs (fruit, menthol, coffee, etc.). That way you can try multiple flavors without having to buy 5 cartos of something you may not like.
Let us know if we can help you with anything.
Welcome back. You might want to take a look at Lady's helpful links sticky. There is a ton of information there which will be very helpful if you can't get immediate answers. Blue and Harmony know quite a lot and will lead you in the right direction...as will others here.
Welcome back to the forum, Skoad...you've received some great advice already, but I will add my 2c. :twocents:
You didn't mention what juices or cartos you used before, or what caused you to give up vaping last year...if it was an issue with mechanicals, throat hit, flavor, etc...all of tose things are easily overcome...
If you are happy just using cartos, there is no need to buy new equipment until your batts die...which, depending on how long you used them last time could be tomorrow or 6 on ths from now... The KD diamond/stealth are exactly like the titans on the INSIDE, but the titans have a lovely "flower petal" finish that feels very nice, and many people like that finish VERY much...I have 2-3 in my arsenal...either way, I would suggest adding one or two of the new KDs to your vape bag, just in case your old batts decide to not charge/vape...(I suspect that with the new look coming for the Vapor4Life website, new products will be introduced, and you might want THOSE instead!
I would suggest looking at your old cartos and reviewing which flavors and nic strengths you WERE using "back then" and make your new purchases based on your past usage...if you find that your cartos of wow boy are all used up, and coffee remains untouched...by all means, reorder the wwboy cartos...
For some folks the tanks are a huge PITA!! Others, like me, only use the prefilled cartos when out and about, when I'm at home, I use my tanks! There are videos on YouTube (look for "teamKR 808") which explain many aspects of vaping, and certainly one on how to fill a tank...once you have the mechanics of how to fill/refill, you a re rewarded with a GREAT VAPE!!!
There is almost always someone here to assist you with any issue you encounter, and perhaps many of us are "gadget geeks" and we love trying new things...others, not so much...they are quite happy with an ash cap batt and some cartos...don't feel pressured to try something...unless, of course, it looks interesting to you!
Wishing you a happy vaping adventure! Don't hesitate to ask questions...as you see, there are lots of folks with different ideas, different ways, different equipment and different juices that give them "the ultimate vaping experience"...for instance, if all there was to vape was something "minty"...I'd HAVE to go back to the stinkies!! On the OTHER hand, I truly enjoy Green Tea, tastes just like a cup of green tea , no sweetner, just tea...but I would bet I am in the minority with THAT JUICE!!! I also enjoy Beach Bum and Jammin...but not everyone likes them either!
So, use whatever tools you need that will keep you on track...we are behind you 1000%, and we are here to help if you need it!!
Happy vaping, and welcome to the forum!
Wow you guys are amazing. I had hoped for a little help and I ended up getting a whole lot of it.
Thanks to everyone above. Such great information. I had hoped I could get away with not having to purchase new stuff but considering how old my stuff is and how far things have come, I guess I need to look into purchasing a new kit. I just had a child last week so I guess this could turn out to be a fathers day gift for me.
I didnt mention it in the first post but the reason I had stopped vaping was because I ordered a lotttt of carts and juices when I first started but didnt look into it enough to order the right stuff. Everything I ordered was the lowest nicotine strength. At first it kind of helped my craving but I kept having to smoke a normal cig in between and in the end I just couldnt get away with it. I should have ordered stronger stuff and kept with it but I didnt. Now that I have a kid I really want to give the stuff up.
Are all of the old chargers no good or just the charging carry case? I ordered the ultimate kit I believe when I started with it and it came with a USB charger/wall charger/ and the portable charger. Just want to make sure I dont use anything that can damage the new gear.
Still not sure which route I am going to take with the new stuff. Got to read all yalls posts over again a few times and let stuff kick in. So much to take in. :P
Also thinking I should wait until the new site launches that I was reading about to see if there is any newer stuff that I should be looking into.
-edit- Looking now.. Appears the Titan Kit would be best.. only one that comes with portable charger is the $105 set.. Then Id have to throw in a tank and some juice.. So will have to see when I can get $130ish to spend... or I could just stick with the Ultimate kit and get the tanks/juices when Ive got a few extra bucks to spend. I just want to try and start out the way I want to continue doing it.
My biggest problem with the Titan ultimate kit is that it appears to only come with auto bats which I read are bad for tanks. Even though these are the sealed ones.. I still enjoy having a manual bat. When I used these before, I would switch form my auto to my manual depending on... well... my mood I guess haha.
I think you might have some better luck this time kicking the analog habit. The E-Juice has came a long way since then. The flavors are better and there are more of them. Out of all the vendors/flavors available today, you are bound to find something you really like. I don't know if you like doing research but I would suggest doing some. Figure out what combination you think is going to work best for your situation and just start sampling. You can either purchase the pre-filled carto's from Vapor4Life or you can get some 5ml juice samples from various vendors for roughly $2.50. I wouldn't go buying a 30ml bottle of juice unless you know you like it.
You're most welcome Skoad; we were all new here once, and all received a lot of help and support from the good folks here, and so there's generally always a good amount of folks wanting to pay it forward here. :)

If it were me, I'd skip the PCC and buy an additional battery (or 2) instead.
Regarding the charger; it's a good idea to get the new one. The old one works, but can 'overcharge' the newer battery types if left on for too long, while the newer chargers don't do that. If you are on a really tight budget (I know how the new dad thing is!), you can skip it for now but need to be vigilant about removing from the charger when done (eg, don't leave it charging overnight or while gone for a long period, which is good advice for any battery charging anyway, really.)
Good to know. Im generally at home a lot and when Im not I am around a charger. Plus I plan to have a few bats on me at all times. So the PCC isnt really needed. Thanks!
Ive got a simple question that is somewhat off-topic... When selecting colors, there is a Blue and a sapphire.. and when Im looking at the pictures, there looks to be a light blue, brighter blue, and a dark royal blue.. Anyone know which color is which? :P
I do wish they had more kits. The kit down from the ultimate doesnt have a pass through. Oh well.. So many options! haha
The darkest blue is actually sapphire, real nice color.
The lightest blue is platinum and the one that looks bright is just blue.
