Hey gang! As I promised MysticOne, I will give a short version of my vaping journey and how I landed on Vapor4Life's virtual doorstep.
It seems so funny that there are times in my life that I just "knew" something had to change or something wasn't quite right and needed to change. I felt this way about exploring alternatives to analogs. It was like a page turned one day...revealing not just a new Chapter...but an entirely new book. That was the day I Googled "ecigarette", "electronic cigarettes" and many other words in my eager...("desperate" is a more accurate word) attempt to succeed in something I had failed in so many times.
My daughter had bragged about a local store that sold vaping supplies not far from her home. At my request, she drove to the store that same day and purchased a Starter Kit. Then, she handed the phone to the salesman and I also ordered a Starter Kit and some pre-filled cartomizers. I specifically recall asking this salesman "do I have everything I need because I don't want to run out in a few days and go back to my old habits?" His response was reassuring and confident "oh no way, I wouldn't let that happen". Well, Pfffffft!
My vaping supplies package arrived a couple days later, I feverishly started putting everything together the best way I could (there were no instructions or information included). The new experience wasn't that bad AT FIRST. Then a few days into it, I noticed my batteries were dying really fast. And, I noticed my cartos were tasting really crappy. I would sit in front of the charger trying to "will" it to turn from red to green. It became an exercise in frustration and futility. I tried to call the 800 # for the company (which was no where on their website...my daughter had one of their business cards) but no one answered or returned messages.
"Frustration" doesn't begin to describe how I felt (I would need to use 4-letter words for that). When I finally reached someone at that company I was prepared to give them a piece of my mind! And, it started off that way, but before I knew it...20 minutes later I had ordered the "the newest, bestest, highest quality" hardware. Jeeze, what a buffoon! LOL Needless to say, the results were similar to my first set of useless junk.
Back to Google I went. But now I was in a bad mood and had developed a cynical, negative attitude. (I should probably explain that I'm not a very patient person most of the time). I don't spend months, weeks, days or even that many hours when I begin research.
I began clicking furiously and paused at a comment in one of the "hits" that had been excerpted from a Facebook Link to "Vapor4Life". "Facebook" I thought. That might work for me. I can see what other people are saying as opposed to scrolling through advertisements". I began to read the Facebook pages sections and was a little apprehensive about the truth or accuracy of the information therein. "No company can have this kind of customer satisfaction in this volume of people! Surely this is staged!"
I seem to recall asking a couple of questions and people came out of the woodwork to help me! "Huh? That can't be!" I easily found the link to the store's site and began browsing. Then, to my absolute astonishment, I see a "live chat" option when I was composing an email with all of my questions AND a number for Customer Service! I quickly called the number. I'll never forget the first Customer Service person I spoke to..."Gabe".
I related to Gabe my sad story of the large amounts of money that I had spent (that I couldn't afford). I told him each piece of crappy hardware that was lying in front of me... practically useless. I almost cried when I explained that I had been using analogs out of frustration. Gabe didn't seem in the least bit shocked by my recent history of unethical, untruthful and unscrupulous companies that I had been dealing with.
Gabe spent what seemed like a very long time on the phone with me helping me to find the products and hardware that would work for me. I felt like this Customer Service experience could be compared to the "Cadillac" or "Ritz Carlton" of companies....and the low-level one-man operation I had been giving my money to was the "Yugo" or "flea bag" in comparison. The differences were amazing...even from the first phone call.
When my first package arrived...I was impressed. I could NOT believe the difference! I was ashamed of myself for having been duped so badly by the previous crooks. LOL
Well, to cut this story short....that was December 9, 2011. I'm still very impressed with Vapor4Life's Customer Service. I still want to slap the first couple of vendors that took advantage of a "quick sale" and could have cared less about getting a return customer (their obvious loss, eh?)
I know I said this would be a short story....but, believe it or not, it is short compared to the detailed facts of what I went through to get to Vapor4Life. I'm just glad I'm here.
Thanks for reading this, folks! It's the truth...every word of it.

Remember whilst reading this that we had NEVER heard of e-cigs, they are not common in Australia, or so we thought.
My son and his girlfriend came home one day with these funny looking cigarettes telling us how great they were, how they bought them online and starting citing all the health benefits, great flavours etc. I was sceptical at first and let them do their thing. Whilst I was outside smoking my stinky stick, my son was boasting how he didn't have to stand outside and have his "smoke" as his Vapor4Life e-cigs didn't smell and he could use them inside. When my husband Jock came home, we were all inside and my son and his GF were vaping inside the house. His first reaction, "what are you doing smoking in the house?", they were quick to tell him about the e-cigs as well. He basically said it's all rubbish, won't last and went outside for a smoke.
After about a week and the "kids" continually going on about the fabulous flavours, I finally said "ok give me a go", I thought, what the heck, cigarettes are $20.00 a packet and I do have a smokers cough, what's the harm. Well I was taken from the first "puff", I went online that night and ordered my starter kit. I said to Jock, you really should try this, it's great. He still wasn't interested. I continued to smoke the ole stinkies until my kit arrived, took an enormous 5 weeks to arrive, I would phone home every day when I knew the kids would be home from school to see if any parcels have arrived (this hasn't changed I might add).
One day, I called home ....... yeehar, the parcel was here, I raced home from work and couldn't wait. Luckily the batteries already had some charge because I wasn't about to sit and wait. That was in February 2012, I haven't gone back to the stinkies since that day. I took my e-cigarette to work the next day and was telling anyone who would listen about them. One of my very best friends, is now an addicted vaper as well.
It wasn't long before Jock finally said, ok give me a go. That was it for him as well, he has gone from smoking 30 cigarettes a day to full time vaping. If Vapor4Life need a marketing consultant, he's your man, he tells everyone and anyone about Vapor4Life and the benefits of vaping. There are now at least 5 people at the golf club vaping, another 5 at my work, plus anytime he goes away on business, he is always being asked about his e-cig and hands out Vapor4Life cards hand over fist. He has received emails from colleagues thanking him for getting them onto Vapor4Life.
It wasn't long before we moved onto tanks and XL batteries and in our little circle of friends are the "vaping experts" LOL, nothing compared to the knowledge of our new friends we have met on the forum here. We have recently moved onto EGO's thanks to my new found friend Via from Florida. My son, husband and I are all using EGO's now, with tanking now and then.
When we go away for a weekend, it's not only phone, ipad and computers we need to worry about charging, it's our batteries as well, plus the supplies of juices and cartos.
We are lucky that we struck Vapor4Life first go without having to worry about other vendors ripping us off. The only hassle we have had is when we came so close to running out of supplies because of the delay in shipping so far. Luckily I met another Aussie on the Vapor4Life forum who lived near by, Amanda, who was nice enough to give me some of her cartomisers to get us through. We just love vaping and by doing so are saving ourselves approx $130 a WEEK. Unbelievable, I know, but true. We don't stink, my cough has gone and the kids are happy too that we have stopped with the tobacco.
Thank you to all support from everyone here on the forum, you are all so helpful and friendly, I do hope to meet you all some day. My huge thanks also to Gabe in Customer Service, he is awesome.
Great stories LS9 and Margie!
Such a shame how many hoops we all have to jump through to quit! At least we've all found our niche.
