Taking a short break tonight from unpacking to post this. My computer is still down, but on wife's laptop for now. Any spelling mistakes are because I can't use this keyboard.... Anyways...
The OMG is a ego-t threaded device, this means it was designed to use 510 and ego attys/cartos. It can use kr808 cartos via adapter (which is provided). The tube is metal but very thin, and the bottom cap is vented. The vent hole is quite small though and the spring is a very heavy gauge. Mention this because it can make it difficult to screw it in. It uses 2 rcr123 stacked with a step down switch. These batts came off at 3.61v hot off the charger. This shouldn't surprise anyone, 3.7v batts come off 4.2v as we all know. 3.7v is the maximum off load voltage these batts are rated for, so 3.61v is still in the safe range. The button is just like that of the ego-t kit, blue light behind it and all. Now for the technical details...
Off load voltage on this device with 2 freshly charged batts was 6.88v. That's not a typo. Once load was applied things changed, the step down kicked in. For those who keep saying it hits better than the pt, well there's a reason why-
Load with cool cart at 3.3ohms- 5.36v
Load with wow carto at 2.3ohms- 5.32
Load with dual coil carto with tank at 1.5ohm- 5.22v
These numbers look great on paper, but a few things need to be kept in mind. Certain juices do not do well at higher wattage. Wowboy comes to mind, 10.1 watts is right about at it's limit before scorching. A 2.3ohm carto on this thing will draw 12.3 watts. Dual coils will help with that somewhat. For those that don't know how a dual coil works it's two medium-high ohm coils working as one. This is like running two cartos at once. You're pulling twice the wattage, but it's spread out to 2 separate parts of the carto. This helps prevent juice burn, and increases vapor production and th potential, but at the cost of higher current. You think wow cartos drain a batt quickly, the tank really will. 5.22v with a 1.5ohm dual coil will pull 3.48 amps. Technically you're talking 12 minutes of constant use at that amperage with a 750mah batt. That leads to our next issue. That's a very high amount of amps from any non imr batt, and even more to ask from stacked batts.... Everyone on here should know the dangers of what happens when a battery fails. Tomorrow will start getting actual run time with each type of carto and do voltage testing to see if it stays regulated at those numbers throughout it's life. Will hopefully have that info up by Friday.<br><br>This mod has it's ups and downs. The good- 5.2v+ voltage power, button response is on par with the ego-t kit, can be turned off and on with 5 clicks. The bad- stacked batts are always a risk, venting hole is small, cap is a pita to get on, worries about durability (especially for those of us who are drop prone), wow cartos with certain juices are rendered useless. Have 3 issues that do need to be mentioned. 1- when changing batts where the light kept flashing on the button and it wouldn't fire. Fix wasn't too difficult, just removing the cap for 10 seconds, then rescrewing it on. 2- The adapter provided for 808 cartos had an issue with 2 of the 5 wow (yes said wow) cartos screwing all the way on to it. Had to sand the threads. 3- The adapter provided added 0.2 resistance to the carto.... Don't know if it's just a bad adapter, or all are shipped that way. On the multimeter the wow carto read at 2.3ohms, on the unmentioned device 2.3ohms using a different adapter, with the provided adapter 2.5ohms. Ended up using the 0 resistance one for testing purposes. If it seems like a mixed review it's because it is.
Really looking forward to the rumored Vapor4Life made mod that others keep talking about. If they can fix the issues of this one, and stay away from stacked batts, it will be a winner. 5v (+/- 0.03v) is the maximum range for all the juices asnd cartos Vapor4Life carries. While .3v may not seem like much, in the ecig world that's a world of difference.
