I read... a lot 200+ books a year and i'm coming up to the point where i'm running out of explorable avenues i will read almost anything with a good plot and character development. So i figured why don't we make a thread where we recommend each other various books to read so that we can all enjoy something new!
my faves sorted by genre in no particular order:
Kushiel's series first book starts with kushiel's dart and has some of the most heart breakingly real characters i've ever encountered in a series the setting while fantasy reminds me something of Europe in style and flair of something around maybe the victorian era. this is proably one of my most loved series.
The darktower series by stephen king. While i find some of king's books to be a chore to trudge through he is a great author even if he can be a bit wordy at times and i don't always enjoy his style but this series he really shines there are some books where not much happens aside from loose ends tied up or plot setups for the next book but overall they all blend together very well and creates a wonderful journey.
The wheel of time. Started by the late Robert Jordan this series is one that keeps me coming back i reread it atleast once a year and it's just a really great read inspired heavily by authorian legends and drawing heavily from history and myths of our world he manages to create a vivid lively world full of political intrigue interestingly complex characters and relationships he passed before he could complete it it's still going on as he left tons of notes on how to finish it and brian sanderson is doing a darn fine job with it.
A song of ice and fire. I'm only on book 3 and i'm not going to lie i struggle to get into each book but a quarter to halfway through it just grabs you and doesn't let go till you finish it. this is the series that HBO's a game of thrones is from. very well written even if i don't like the really long setup at times but it makes everything make sense..... aside from why my fave character so and so died this time. i'm not spoiling anything but just don't get attached to any characters....
