    WOW DJ Black Review

I received my order of WOW DJ Black today (11mg) today. I was very excited to try this flavor and as a clove enthusiast, made the wait for it to arrive even more anxious.

I've been sampling the flavor throughout the day - first with a fresh palette and occasionally in between other flavors. I am not exactly sure how to describe the flavor - a little sweet, a little acidic and just a tad fruity. Attempting to compare it to other flavors, I'm tasting something similar to Sour Green Apple in the mix, which would explain the more acidic taste. I'm also picking up hints that remind me of Bandit Berry, which I suppose is the tobacco base flavor. All in all, it doesn't really have any one strong taste to me, nor does it have a strong tobacco flavor.

When comparing DJ Black to traditional Clove, I have to say I still prefer traditional Clove. By and large, this flavor does not really taste like clove to me (or the product it is attempting to replicate), but everyone's taste buds are different. I wondered initially if I had burnt out a carto when loading the tank, but everything seems alright. Perhaps the wattage is too high (I'm vaping currently on Vapor Titan XL Manuals & EGO). I was also wondering if some left-over flavor from a previous juicing experience had somehow bonded to the tank and is altering the flavor (the smell of the juice seems different than the taste). I'm considering mixing Clove and DJ Black but am low on replacement cartos at the moment, so I may have to wait until another time to do so.

I should also note that the aftertaste (I just tried it in a blank CoolCart I had lying around) does seem to mimic the actual flavor one would expect: a clove/tobacco taste.

I was waiting for someone to post a review for DJ Black. Thank you Mikelos! I still have half a carton of analog Djarum Blacks lying around (the originals, not the new cigarillos), and I'll light one up every now and then for a special occasion. I'm thinking about giving them away though to avoid temptation. The "Sour Green Apple" comparison doesn't make me too keen on trying this flavor. I might go ahead and order some Traditonal Clove as per your recommendation. Just out of curiosity, did you detect any hint of cinnamon? One of the signature features of the real deal I enjoyed was the cinnamon on the filter.

Sorry to hear it wasn't closer to actual Blacks Mike Although, like replicating tobacco flavors, I imagine it would be hard to replicate it since they aren't replicating the burning cloves rather they are trying for the taste of the cloves without burning them. I think that is why I've stayed away from clove flavors so far. I just can't imagine how they would taste without burning them and I don't even know if I'd like them if they weren't burning. Plus there's that flavor they leave on your lips that also wouldn't be there. Which is one thing I love about cloves! Lol, I guess I'll sit this one out. Thanks for the review though! And good luck with the mixing!!

Yeah, it was a bit of a let down Harmony. But that is the way it goes! I'm just sad because I'm almost out of regular Clove, but at least I got some new Wow Peppermint; I absolutely love this stuff!

JB, I would definitely recommend traditional Clove. What mg do you currently use? I remember when I first started (at 36mg), the Clove was very strong and somewhat similar to the Blacks, but I'm now down to 8-11mg. The Clove flavor is this range changes a bit; it kind of reminds me of marshmallow creme for some odd reason. Nevertheless, it is a good vape and one that does not get old quickly.

I looked back through some of my older posts because I remembered mixing Clove with Mint to make a cinnamon-type flavor. I came up with a "Cinnamint" which was a 4:1 ratio (20% Clove, 80% Mint). I'm playing around with some combinations of the two, but I'm thinking perhaps a 50/50 blend or 60% Clove, 40% Mint may get you closer to the result you're looking for (in case you already have these flavors). If not, you may want to try one of the Cinnamon flavors and experiment by adding that to the Clove. I haven't tried any Cinnamon flavors yet but they are high on my list for the next order, especially the new Cinnamon flavor!

And lucky lucky on still having the original Blacks! I still pick up a pack of the new versions every once in a while; they're the only analog that can still tempt me!

I know what you mean Mike. DH had some the other day, the new ones not the good ones, and I just had to have one. I didn't know that they were different, but I didn't really care for them. I figured it was just because I hadn't smoked in so long. But then I found out that they aren't the same, so that was probably it.

Mikelos, I currently use 18mg. So hopefully the traditional clove at that strength will taste like cloves. If not... marshmallow creme sounds pretty good too! And I always keep a few bottles of my favorite menthol e-liquid around for mixing. Mentholated cloves sounds rather good!

And as far as having the original Blacks... They are still manufactured! You just need to order them online from other countries that can legally sell them.

Yes, thanks Mik. I would have to think about clove....I think mixed with something like orange would be good but not by itself for me personally.
