Lanyard for EGO?
Hi all, I have heard some talk about people attaching their ego to a lanyard to wear around their neck. I am very interested in this as I have been trying to find a good way to carry it around. I just started a job at UPS and it is a very physically intense job so I can't really work comfortably wth a huge glasses case in my pocket. I have searched this forum up and down for the thread, but cannot seem to find it. If anyone could provide me with a link or give me some instructions on how to do this that would be awesome. Thanks!
I'm sure a few people can send you PMs about them. Too bad there isn't a way to tag people on here.
We had a discussion about using the BIC accountant fine point pocket clips, and others, on the battery.
We also discussed using the lanyard loop, not clip, type of identification lanyards with the pen clip. The clip is the anchor for the lanyard on the battery. If you do not understand 'loop', think of the lanyards found on electronic cameras, phones, etc. You can find bulk packs on eBay. The posts, with pics, may still be on the forum, though it has been a while.
Amos sometimes uses a 'pocket' PV, a *medical* PV, which is short, an auto, about four inches long including the battery carto and drip tube. They have a built in 1" loop lanyard. I may not give the brand name here, nor am I recommending them, but you can buy the parts. He had done this mod on several Vapor4Life battery units, by drilling a 1/16th hole on the 'ash' end. You should be able to find these via a web search.
For a 'quick fix', he cuts off the cup end of a 'condom', leaving a sleeve, and the lanyard loop goes around that, and that is slid onto the battery.
On another post somebody asked about protecting the button on a manual battery. I have seen people do the sleeve trick but with a hole in it to protect the button.
I have also seen electrical connectors, that look like a '8', ground thin, screwed between the battery and carto.
I use a sewn 'sleeve' on a lanyard. If you have somebody who can do sewing work, that is also an option. This is also how this librarian carries her writing pen.
Hope it helps.
