I picked up vaping again around three months ago and haven't had a cigarette in nine weeks. I was a menthol smoker but I didn't have much difficulty transitioning from menthol to non-menthol. I'd say you may need to up your nicotine dosage if you're still craving analogs; satisfy your nicotine needs but stay off the analogs.I'm very new to this and so far have tried the vanilla and blueberry carts. I really like them but sometimes I still want a "real one". I've been a Nuport pack-a-day smoker for 15 years and I'm now down to about 1/4 pack a day combined with vaping vanilla and blueberry (so far). I'm wondering if trying the Nuport carts would help me when I crave the analogs or if I should try to make myself forget the taste of those and enjoy the better tasting flavors.
Oh and I've been using the 8mg carts but am thinking that I need to switch to a higher level in order to stop the desire for the analogs. I'm just nervous about going to a higher level than I should.
I had no idea there would be so much to learn about e-cigs but I'm really excited that I've found something that will help me do what I've wanted to do for years.
From my experience, when I finally said no more analogs, I took comfort in the fact that I would still have my physical dependence met and it would be virtually in the same form for the psychological aspect. A pass-through is a good investment if you do not already have one. You'll get those cravings "for the real thing" but it's much more manageable than cravings during a withdrawal.
I was smoking one to two packs per day depending, and I started on 36mg. I actually may have increased my nicotine consumption initially, but that wasn't my primary concern; I wanted to get off of analogs first. Clove 36mg was my favorite to use with strong cravings and is a spicy tasting vape. The regular Mint nobacco juice is also good and it's somewhat like a menthol but not really as it's very clean/fresh tasting and there's no tobacco taste. I'm now vaping on the 11 & 18 mg Kiwi Apple Strawberry and Pineapple for my fruit binges. It's good to have two or three different types on hand if possible to cycle through when one flavor starts to become "boring".
At nine weeks out, I feel confident and settled in my vaping habit; vary rarely do I now have a craving for a real cigarette (maybe 2-3 times per week). Stick with it and it won't be long before an analog will seem disgusting.
