I can't remember if it was here or over on ECF, but I seem to remember reading somewhere that painting batteries doesn't go so well. I recently started using a lanyard. The first few weeks went great, but the last week or so my batteries have been getting HUGE scratches in the paint. I think it might be due to my zipper on my hoodies. I have a few idea of how to make them look ok again, but I am concerned about covering up the battery vent holes (because I don't see any...so not sure where they are) so I was curious, where are the vent holes on the Egos? I have some rustoleam silver paint that is for metal, so I thought I could maybe try that, but if that doesn't work, I thought maybe I could try wrapping it in high quality vinyl (which would avoid any future scratches all together) that we have laying around for a future business venture, but I know that that would for sure cause a problem with venting if I inadvertently covered the vent holes. With the ash cap batteries it was pretty obvious, I can see them on the edge of the ash cap, but I don't see any small holes, except for the intake holes up on the threads of the battery. Also, has anyone had success re-painting their batteries? Do you have any other ideas for recovering them? I've really sad about them getting all scratched up...kinda wishing I had picked a lanyard with a pouch now.
Thanks, everyone for your help!
