    Question about Slim Charger

Recently, I don't remember exactly when, I purchased the slim charger because one of the older model wall chargers (the one with the cord) stopped working (charger LED stays red, and nothing happens when I plug in a batt). It seems that we a few of my batts (i have 6 total, 3 in use at a time), when I "plug" them into the slim charger, although the batt LED blinks, the LED on the charger does not change from green to red, which to me indicates charging. I only charge the batts as needed, so I have my doubts as to the quality of the charger, and whether it works with all batteries. Has anyone else run across this, and can someone confirm that, even though the charger LED is green, that it is indeed charging my batt? Thanks.

It will turn red if it is charging. Do you screw the batts in just until they "stop" with light pressure? If so, give it another quarter turn. If that doesnt help, remove the batt, unplug charger, turn it over and plug it back in, then the batt again. If that doesnt help, well, someone else will have to take over.

Also, you might have to adjust your post just a weeeee bit, you do want to get that light to turn red, otherwise, I have found, it won't charge. You just have to get the proper connection.

As for Morandir's, remove, unplug, wait 5 seconds, flip, plug, attach, and repeat. That will help if there is no light at all appearing on the charger.

The only other thing it might be is that the charger connection and/or battery connection needs to be wiped down.

Am I wrong in thinking that, since the batt LED blinks, a proper connection is being made? If there was an improper connection from the post, why would the batt flash when plugged in?

@plarkinjr - I do screw the batt until it stops. I work on computers, and I live by the rule of "don't force it once it stops". Maybe that isn't the right way to think about this.

The next time I run into the issue, I will try both suggestions, and see what happens.

I'm like you in tending toward not overtightening, and ran into the exact situation (batt blinks, but charger doesnt go red). A little extra 1/4 turn to snug it up helped. I cannot explain WHY the batt blinks, but doent make "enough" connection to charge. Also, its perhaps obvious, but a fully charged batt will not turn the charger red when attached.
