Personally i was shocked this a.m. when in my yahoo email the banner above said Swisher Sweets and it had an E-Cig O.o SHOCK, FAINT! See the other point I dont get is the fda is trying to jump in on the ecig but yet now the BIG tobacco brands are jumping in ..how can they ban the ones we have and other companies if the bigger co. are coming out with their "ecig" stuff. I don't know anything about the other stuff but I just think if they are going to get in the "business" of the ecig then the FDA needs to back off, I also think that, that is why the FDA is stepping in because the bigger cig. co's are stepping in, so now the gov. can make money off of everyone ..I think its all fishy!
I agree that it is fishy! I'm afraid of what the FDA will do to them, but I'm sure whatever they do it won't hurt BT. I have a feeling they are in this together.
It's a double edged sword Ms. TxTunesLady. If the FDA rules ecigs as a cessation device then they fall under FDA rules and standards. BT doesn't want this even more so than us vapers, but on the same note if they fall under a tobacco product umbrella then BT now has its hands all over ecigs, which has a whole different set of pitfalls.... Either way this goes things will change in the ecig industry, question is how....
Why is being classified as a cessation device a bad thing?
Because then they would have to be pulled off the market in order to do all the proper (read: years of) testing and research to prove that they are successful enough to be classified as cessation devices. At least that's how I understood it.
