Hi everybody! New to the form so this will be my first post. Ive been vaping on and off for the past two years with Vapor4Life. However since this past july I have been off "anologs" and very happy. I also started using tanks around july and I think thats what got me back to just vaping. At that time I upgraded to an ego and all was perfect. Before now I never understood the whole mod craze. I thought to myself why in the world would some one want to carry around a big tube with them. Thinking that it was mainly for big clouds of vapor and battery life I decided my egos are working just fine for me. Now comes the (dav) review.
I once was blind but now i see. VV- it all comes down to variable voltage. I stopped into the smokless lounge and decided an " ego" upgrade wasnt a bad idea. Better battery life, cool green led, nice colors to choose from. So I got a large 1100 mah blue dav. unfortunately they only had dual coil tank cartos in stock so I got a few of those. I have been using 2.0 sc. After doing reserch here on the form and else where I came to the conclusion that dual coils are not the best match with the dav. It reaches the amp limit pretty quickly (amps around 2.5) (volts at 3.8) and at that level it was draining my battery quickly. Opposite of what i wanted it for. More research lead me to believe a single coil was in order for this device to take advantage of the vv. I tried my 2.0 single coil and it was good....but i still didnt have full range of vv with out the risk of the cart buring up quickly. Even at 3.8 volts i was at 1.9 amps. (i try and get the most out of my cartomizers, im ballin on a budget) the consensus on the forms was personal opinion. However, being more of a tech person and looking at the numbers a 3ohm sc seemed to make much more sense. At 4.8 volts a 3ohm resistance your still making a nice vape with watts at 7.68 and thus saving battery life at 1.6 amps compared at any other options. All this and you have the full function of vv without the risk of burning your cart. It all is personal opinion, but imo the best option for the dav is a 3ohm sc cartomizer. I only had 1.5 dc so guess i would have to wait to test my theory. Untill some chi-town enginuity came across and i realized the coils run parallel and run off two diff positives. (clip) top wire clipped and I now have 3ohms sc carts. Wow was I right... I now understand why people like mods
In conclusion the dail-A-volt is a great way to take the next step in vaping. Its giving the feel of mods and vv while well....... dialing in your sweet spot for juice. I cant wait to get into some new devices and mods. After reading many blogs most people with mods really enjoy the "twist-dav" and I will always be using my dav no matter what other device I might have.
