Well let me jump in here and be the one to say how well my tanks are working

I am apparently a visual person. So I started out with pre-filled cartos, which were nice, but then went right into Smileomizers. Thinking juice in something to refill and hold more then a carto would be cool. I ended up buying 11 Smileos for me and my better half to share. Well I didn't like the Smileos cause I was so concerned on them burning up. Plus I had to either drip fill and wait or use a syringe that I realized I didn't like to fill them. Of course using the syringe was easy peasy, but it was still something else I had to have around the house. But I didn't want to have to carry it with me in case I needed a fill or top off. So I decided to buy a couple tanks to try. Was a little worried because of the horror stories. But the day they came in I sat down and watched Snowdragon's video on how to fill them and with in 5 minutes I had them both filled up with no leaks and was puffing my little heart out.
Since then, I have passed all 11 Smileos to my friend and bought tanks. I have both 3.5ml and 6ml sizes in different colors. It takes me less then 20 seconds to refill a tank without needing any needles, special stuff, or any of that crazy drip and spin around crap!. And I have yet to have a burnt or over saturated problem with a carto or tank. I LOVE THEM! They were made for me
Granted, I may be one of the lucky ones, but even if I end up having a problem with a tank, I figure since I got more tanks sitting around, I will use one of them till I figure out the issue with the bad one. I am not in the least bit concerned. So I would recommend having more then one tank if you decide on the tank route, just so your not stuck with a single bad one and turn frustrated.
I would also recommend having an extra carto or two on hand so if one goes bad you can flip it quickly. I personally bought a few but have yet to need one. I have been using my tanks now for about 2-3 weeks I think.
Cleaning them seems to be easy for me also. I bought some cheap Vodka that I soak the cartos in. Then after awhile I rinse in hot water and let sit for a couple days to dry out. If I need them quickly, I put the carto in the oven @ 175 for about an hour. I also take the tanks themselves apart and soak the plastic pieces and end caps in hot soapy water for a little while then rinse in hot water and let sit for awhile to dry. If I need to put the tank back together quickly, I dry the pieces with a paper towel.
The only issue that I didn't realize at first was that the end caps of the tank that have the o-ring need to be a little wet to get them back together, if not they are almost impossible to get back in. I have also noticed when I put the end caps back in that some times the o-ring flattens out some and doesn't seat well, so I use a baby screwdriver to move the end cap back out a smidge then back in and it seats properly.
So for me, all in all, tanks are the way to go. The best thing about them IMO is being able to see when I need to refill.
Lovely little gadgets! :hail:
Harmony is right. The reason you read about so many problems is because people come here when they have problems, ask questions and receive help. Most of the satisfied customers don't share their experience. They just simply enjoy their product. Tanks are my favorite. I haven't had any issues with them. Sure I've used up a few cartos from usage, but they actually lasted longer than I expected. Tanks have exceeded my expectations. That's why they're #1 on my list. :) I prefer the 6ml because they're easier to work with and require less refills. I won't buy another 3ml one, as I don't see any advantages over the 6ml version. I guess if your going for looks, they might have an advantage. It all depends on what's important to you. Functionality is most important for me. A dav, with a 6ml tank is perfect for my vaping needs. :)
Well Cruel, were sharing now :)
We should make a 'Love Tanks!' thread and tell peeps how wonderful they are
Thanks for sharing Kelly!! I also love tanks!!
Feel free to make any thread you want! It's always nice to get people posting!
I agree with all of you ~ tanks are the greatest! I was so afraid of them for the longest time, but once I got one, I knew I would never go back to carts (or even mega carts) again! Thanks to the wonderful videos, I had no problem learning how to fill them. Have to admit I am lazy about it, so I use a syringe to make the process as easy as pie! I have an occassional issue with leaking.... like Harmony, was just driving down the road vaping, and boom, it leaked all over me! I still don't know why, but it was probably related to the warmer weather (as I never have a problem in the winter). I have to be extra careful in the summer, so I put my tanks in rotation and never let them get too hot (from vaping or just sitting if outside).
The smileos are great too, but less visual in being able to determine how much life is left in it, so I end up taking several with me anywhere I go. The advantage of a tank, is you know exactly how much juice is left in it.
I also like smileos. They provide great vapor and last a long time. I haven't thrown one out yet. I still use the very first two that I bought. They both have been cleaned once, but both are still working well. The reason I like tanks more is because of the taste. I don't know, theres just a different taste with these smileos. I taste the juice, with a faint smileo flavor. I don't know how to describe it. Tanks imo taste cleaner. Like you're only tasting the e-liquid. Oh, and tanks are prettier :D You can customize the color and drip tip to your liking. Whereas you're much more limited with the smileo's.
A lot of the horror stories regarding tanks are also from the early incarnations of them. When tanks first came out there were no pre-punched cartos for them. People were experimenting with the fill process, list goes on. When I first used tanks (about 2 years ago now) swore them off after the constant issues. 6 months later they had finally been figured out, Vapor4Life started to carry them, and needless to say been an avid user of them since.
Interesting facts to know. Thanks Morandir, sir. I started about 18 months ago, so I guess I was still hearing the horror stories. They actually work really well and are easy to fill. I am so glad I decided to give them a try because that is what truly saved me when I hit the three month wall! Funny I don't hear much about others hitting that wall anymore....... I credit it to all the new devices to step up to. Wish the DAV or Zeus had been around for me then..... but so thrilled to have them now!

When you say "tip" do you mean you ordered a drip tip? Take your cartomizer and remove the white circular mouthpiece. I use a small screwdriver. You can also use a paperclip, or push pin. Then just replace that with your drip tip.
What kind of charger are you using? I only have slim lines but with those it does glow red while charging. Once the light turns green you are good to go.
