Total Hardware Failure
First of all I guess I should introduce myself... I am a heavy smoker (2 packs of Marlboro Red / day) and recently ordered a Dial-a-Volt as well as the Titan starter pack for my girlfriend (who's smoking as much as me). The Titan did not really satisfy (she's still smoking analogue like a steam-train), but the DAV is an enlightment! I absolutely prefer it to smoking cigarettes. I did not expect to get off the cigarettes, but since I'm smoking the DAV I'm only smoking cigarettes when the battery runs out, meaning: 1 to 3 cigarettes a day. I feel much healthier.
Anyhoo: because my 650mA battery is okay for about 10 hours I snitched one of the Titan-batteries from my girlfriend (who's still mainly smoking cigarettes). It's possible to use them with the smilomizers and the WowVapor cartridge, even though it looks a bit stupid, so I can smoke while the DAV is recharging.
That's where the mess begins: the WOWVapor cartridge is a messy piece of equipment. I am using napkins when I'm refilling the cartridge because there's always a lot of juice dripping out of it. When there's no more juice dripping from the hole at the lower end I am connecting it to the Titan-battery.
Nevertheless I guess there's sometimes juice dripping out, and it killed the Titan-battery. At first the battery would suddenly always discharge quickly and heat the juice even if I did not drag on the cartridge. I worked around that by always manually disconnecting the battery from the cartridge when not smoking and when I wanted another drag, I'd turn in back on by tightening the connection. 3 days ago it suddenly completely died, after just 2 weeks of usage. RIP.
For some reason - even though I am not using the WOWVapor-catridge with my DAV-battery - the DAV-battery also completely died today. I had it charged over night and this morning when I had my coffee I took it out of the charger and wanted to puff and: nada. Absolutely nothing. It's completely dead.
I've tried recharging all day long, the charger gives me a green light, but when I screw it into a cartridge (I've tried all three that I have by now) nothing happens.
I've tried cleaning it (with a toothpick, even though there's no visible dirt anywhere) and I also tried some of the tipps I've found on youtube (pulling out that little contact a bit), but nothing seems to work. It's completely dead.
Can someone help? How can I possibly trash two batteries??? I have absolutely no idea!!!
I am in Japan, and there's no nicotine-juice or compatible e-cigarettes available in this country (for whatever reason they only sell non-nicotine juice here). Any order from Vapor4Life takes 2 weeks to arrive and I'm smoking through my second pack of Marlboros right now and I hate it.
Can I theoretically connect a battery directly to the cartridge with wires!? I know this sounds stupid but I'd prefer that to smoking cigarettes. Ah forget it: that's too ridiculous.
Just help me get that battery working again, pleeeeeaaaase.
i'll give this a shot. Are you using the WOW blank cartridges? How are you filling them? They don't take a lot of juice, 1ml or less, so they are easy to overfill. And is your DAV a manual by any chance? If so it might be that it has been turned off by accident. You can turn them on/off by quickly pressing the button 5 times in a row. Is your Titan a manual or auto? If juice gets inside it can/will kill your battery. I love my DAV, I have 5 cuz they do take along time to charge. Wouldn't try connecting wires, sounds dangerous. Do they sell any disposables in Japan? They can work in a pinch.
Have you tried a different cartridge? Would try a different one if haven't before pinning it to the batteries :) BTW welcome to the forums :)
Welcome to the forum and thanks for reaching out to us! If the Vapor Titan batt has a hole on the top of the post, it's possible that battery's been fried. But the DAVs are sealed so you shouldn't have a problem with that. I'd try mixing up cartos to see what works. If all else fails, the DAV has a 1-year warranty and I can send one out to you. Just send me an email at email@example.com.
May want to consider getting a Zeus as well, if you're talking pass throughs - connect to your computer via usb and you can vape while it charges.
Also wondering about voltages: Japan uses 100V, right? The slimline for the DAV reads it can take 100 to 240V but I know there's always variations in output in any region. Maybe downward fluctuations messed up the battery's circuits? Something like a Kill A Watt, or even a call to your local power company can tell you if the fluctuations are drastic. If so, an automatic voltage regulator should help.
Aeiou sir almost wondering if the coil on that carto has burned or shorted out and that's why your DAV isn't working....
Welcome to the forum Aeiou!
Sorry to hear about your troubles :( One of the biggest problems new vapers have is running out of supplies. I know it's frustrating, most of us have been there. All I can recommend (beyond what's already been suggested) is to put in a ticket to have your DAV replaced and order more as soon as possible so you aren't left without a working batt again.
Best of luck!
