Over filling Smileos
New vapor member here.
I have a question. I have a Zeus. I filled my Smileos and may have overfilled them as juice is coming out the bottom. Is this a serious issue in regards to damaging the battery? After taking a few drags I examined the battery tip (took smileo off) and there was a tiny bit of juice on the interface. Any recommendations? Should I spin to remove excess juice?
Also, since filling (maybe overfilling) the smileos, when Vaping I hear a crackling sound from the unit. I believe I've read that this is a normal sound - can you confirm?
When I fill the smileo's, I always put the rubber protector that comes with smileo on the end while filling, helps a bit with juice coming out of the bottom, after filling I would take it off and sit it on a paper towel to soak any excess juice up, it is not good to have juice going onto your connection on the battery, if liquid on there, dab it off.
Yes it is normal to get a sizzle/crackle sound from them, some like to be louder than others :)
Hi Brennan1998. I over-fill smileos all the time - yes, every single time.
Question: do you use the 'condom' end cap that the smileo came with when you fill the smileo? If you don't juice will run out the bottom when you fill.
I use a syringe to fill them, and when the juice level comes up through the polyfill (or through the centre tube) I pull back on the syringe to remove the excess. Something else I have to then do every time is poke my syringe needle (or something else) very carefully up through the bottom of the smileo to break surface tension on any juice remaining in the centre tube.
I wipe the smileo end with a cotton bud (q-tip in US speak?) and do the same if any gets on the battery post.
Crackling, sizzling = yeah! All good.
edit: Dagnabit Nailz, y'all got in while I was typing.
If they do leak, just dry off the post before putting it on your battery. And be sure to wipe the post of the battery before you put it on the charger. You don't want any excess juice on the post to fry the batt when it's put on the charger :).
One thing I do if I overfill is take a kleenex, roll up the corner of it into a fine string type formation. Stick this up the center tube from the battery connection side to soak up the excess. You know you are good to go if you hold it up to a light and can see all the way through. Then I quickly clean up the battery connection part with a q-tip, and vape away. The sizzle is a nice addition imo. :)
