Good morning everyone!!
Oh wow Cruel! Yeesh! And lol at the lady and her daughter. Sounds like a parent.
Both dogs were very apologetic when I came home from the hospital. I made up with them yesterday, I didn't feel well enough on Saturday. Bones was bouncing around happy to see me, but when I started cleaning his wounds he just laid there with his eyes closed and let me do what I had to. The other dog (Locke) has some swelling, but no open wounds. Several people have offered to "fix my problem" but I promptly told them that the only problem was that we accidentally let both dogs out at the same time. And then, of course, we jumped in to separate them. I let Locke out and thought DH was laying down for a nap, but he got up and let Bones out. Bones doesn't get along with other dogs (besides the ones he grew up with) and he went outside and found a dog in "his" yard. We never intended on keeping Locke, we were just going to get him healthy and then let someone else foster him. I have a couple people looking into finding him a place to go, a good rescue org. It was a complete accident that was avoidable, but it happened. If anyone is at fault it is us, not the dogs. We're going to have them looked at when DH has a day off. They aren't letting me drive atm and poor DH is only getting in trouble at work for everything. He was at work the day after it happened, and someone stole his pain meds from his desk, so we are sharing mine. Then he was outside trying to call and check up on me and someone walked up to him, grabbed his phone and took off running! He asked someone to cover for him so he could be at the hospital for my surgery, he got there 3 minutes after they took me away so he didn't get to see me and then the next day he got in trouble for leaving early. He gets in trouble for having wrinkled clothes, but neither of us are able to iron anything right now. And he was in his work pants when the fight happened so now there's a hole in them. He can't put on a belt, so he's hoping they don't notice. Poor guy has had it rough. He doesn't have insurance because he just lost his other job and started this one. At the ER they wrapped up his hand and sent him on his way, didn't even stitch it up. He was bleeding through his bandage by the time he got to my room, which was just down the hall. They gave him a couple referrals and told him what he should do but didn't do anything else. I have insurance, so they did everything for me.
I hope everyone has an easy Monday!
