I've been carrying my OMG with me everywhere I go, most often in my pocket if it isn't actually in my hand. I don't currently have any sort of protective cover or holster or anything for it... After a few months of this, it has managed to fall out of pockets, and I've now discovered several major scratches on it, so that I can see the plain copper-colored metal underneath the black paint.
I'm sure this info is easily researchable in terms of just painting on metal, but I wanted to ask if anyone here has experience with
(A) touching up the existing black paint on an OMG (or other ego-style MOD enclosure with similar finish), and if so what was used?
(B) removing the rest of the existing paint correctly? (I assume a wire wheel on a power drill, or something similar, with perhaps some 000-grade steel wool towards the end of the process.)
(C) applying new paint (what type(s) of paint should I consider, what about clear/protective coatings?)
Since there are no moving parts on it, I was also thinking of possibly applying Sugru or something similar, if I could make it look smooth and uniform enough. This might affect the heat dissapation though so might not be a good idea.
Any and all thoughts (or links to other threads where people have previously discussed this) are most appreciated! I love my mod, but am a little OCD about it looking 'nice'
