Aspire Nautilus Prime Review

Refillable Vape Pod Kits

The transition of vapers from ecigs to vape mods to prefilled vape pods to disposable vapes can essentially be viewed as a complete circle. Vaping began with high nicotine cigalikes and reached that same point again with devices like the Vuse Alto and Juul. The primary difference being the form of nicotine, as nic salts gradually supplanted regular freebase nicotine in potent eliquid formulas.

Refillable vape pod kits are especially convenient with nic salt vapers. They are more cost-effective than a prefilled device, as a typical nic salt bottle holds 30ml of eliquid versus 1.3ml or so in a disposable, and have a wide variety of flavors to choose from. Vapor4Life carries all the top nic salt eliquids to make sure that adult vapers can find a perfect fit for their vaping needs.

But as flavored vape pods have been banned and disposable vapes, while quite convenient, are not particularly cost effective, refillable vape pod kits have been growing in popularity.

A great disposable vape and prefilled vape pod alternative, refillable vape pod kits were initially simple autodraw devices with small batteries, low wattage and a performance envelope that limited them to nic salts. But in the last year, higher performance vape pod kits have been hitting the market. One of the first of these was the Lost Vape Orion DNA Go. The device are reviewing today, the Aspire Nautilus Prime, shows the imprints of the influential Lost Vape design.

Aspire Nautilus Prime Vape Pod Kit

The shape and alloy frame of the Aspire Nautilus Prime was clearly influenced by the Lost Vape Orion DNA Go and Lost Vape Orion Q Pro. But they have had several years to perfect this design and the Aspire has a number of performance advantages. The device itself has a dust and fingerprint resistant coating and a well placed adjustable air vent below the vape pod.

The 0.69” OLED screen has an intuitive interface and the device itself has a full suite of safety controls. With a fire time of 0.001 seconds, this is a high tech and high performance vape pod kit.

The Aspire Nautilus Prime Vape Pod Kit has adjustable wattage and peak output of 40w. Powered by a 2000mAh battery, it is comparable in performance to an Aspire Rover 2. Unlike the Rover 2 NX40, the Nautilus Prime uses proprietary vape pods rather than a classic vape tank design.

If you are vaping nic salts at low wattage, the 2000mAh battery and 3.4ml ejuice capacity will give you plenty of longevity. But the Aspire Nautilus Prime is quick to recharge, using a USB-C connector rather than the traditional mini-USB found on most vaping devices.

Aspire Nautilus Prime Vape Pod

The 3.4ml of Aspire Nautilus Prime Vape Pod is the core the device. With swappable coils, it has a convenient side fill design and a wide 510 drip tip. The standard vape Aspire Nautilus Prime vape pod can be supplemented with a second pod design which is sold separately and is compatible with a rebuildable coil and with the lower resistance BP coils.

Aspire Nautilus Prime Coils

0.7Ω Nautilus 2S Mesh coil and a 1.8Ω Nautilus BVC coil. The BVC coil is perfect for mouth to lung vaping, higher nicotine ejuices and nic salts. It generates the best performance at 16 watts. The 0.7ohm coil is better suited for high-VG ejuices, and works best between 18 and 23 watts.

Perhaps the most interesting feature of the Nautilus Prime is that a rebuildable coils and subohm BP coils work great in the Aspire Nautilus Prime, although these larger coils do require a specific pod that is sold separately.

Final Thoughts

The competition among 40w refillable vape pods with swappable coils is quite heated. The pioneers, the Smok RPM40 and Lost Vape Orion DNA Go remain excellent and viable devices. The Smok Nord 2, Voopoo Vinci R, Smok Pozz X and many other devices also fit in this category. The Smok devices have the advantage of including both pods where relevant, the RPM and Nord, where with the Nautilus Prime you must buy the BP pod separately

But chances are, the basic Aspire Nautilus Prime pod will have your vaping style covered with one of the two coils included. The 0.7ohm mesh and 1.8ohm coil cover the gamut of vaping styles and perform excellently. The device itself has a high quality feel, particularly the connection between the pod and device. The side fill window seals well and the screen is excellent.

If you are looking for a refillable vape pod kit with enough to power to handle thicker ejuices and the chops to vape nic salts, the Aspire Nautilus Prime is a great starting point. The coils are top notch and the device itself is beautiful.
