Essential Tips For Beginner Vapers
Congratulations on making the switch to vaping! There’s a lot of stuff to learn out there for beginner vapers. It might seem a little daunting to delve into the often foggy world of vape mods, e-juice, and e-cigs, but there are plenty of resources out there. The e-cigarette forum, for instance, is a great place to meet experienced vapers and learn new things. Our Vapor4Life Facebook page offers vape tips, news, and contests too. Get on all that. In the meantime, these essential tips for beginner vapers will give you a headstart on living that #vapelyfe.
Learn About E-Liquid
When you start vaping, you might begin with a disposable e-cigarette or an e-cig that has a prefilled cartridge. These are relatively straightforward as all you have to do is vape it or assemble it and vape it. Once you move on to something like the Vapor Zeus e-cig, you’ll have to learn about e-liquid. There are thousands upon thousands of e-juices out there. At Vapor4Life alone, we have more than 300 blends. Reference these tips for beginner vapers about e-juice whenever you need a bit of advice.
E-juice is made with water, vegetable glycerin (VG), propylene glycol (PG) and flavorings. The level of VG and PG affects the taste of your vapor, your throat hit, and the amount of vapor you produce.
- High-PG e-juice is usually a great place for beginner vapers to start. This type of e-liquid provides a more intense throat hit and slightly less vapor. To get the most out of high-PG juice, use it in a Vapor Zeus e-cigarette or with a mod that has coils above 1 ohm.
- High-VG juice is known for its thickness — it has a noticeably thicker consistency than high-PG juice and it produces some seriously thick vape clouds. High-VG juice is a favorite with cloud chasers and more advanced vapers because it has a gentle throat hit and can be tailored to make even bigger clouds. The higher the VG content and the lower the coil resistance (ohms) the more fog you’ll chuck out.
- VG-only juice contains no propylene glycol, so if you have an allergy or sensitivity to propylene glycol, this is the juice for you. Any vaper can use VG-only juice, but keep in mind that it will likely be much thicker than you’re used to, so choose the right tank and mod carefully to get the best experience.
This is an important part of choosing an e-liquid. You want to pick a nicotine level that’s somewhere close to the type of cigarettes you smoked. Check out our guide to nicotine strengths to learn more.
One of the biggest tips for beginner vapers that we have is not to go overboard when it comes to picking out your first vape device. A lot of first-time vapers might be tempted by all the big, shiny vape mod gadget out there. There is time for that, though. We strongly recommend resisting the urge to go mod crazy and starting out with a disposable e-cig, a cig-a-like, or a more mod-like device like the Vapor Zeus. When you’re switching to vaping, the hand-to-mouth ritual and the sensation of smoking a cigarette are a lot of what keeps people drawn to e-cigarettes. Trust, us. We’ve been there.
Make Some Vape Friends
As we mentioned earlier in this article, it’s important to get involved in vape forums, vape groups on Facebook, and to like Facebook pages that are relevant to your new #vapelife. There are two things I know for sure about vapers: they really like their pets and they love to chat about e-cigs. It helps to have someone in your corner, so if you ever have questions, hop on Facebook and chat us or email us at [email protected]. This is a journey that everyone in our office has been on and we’re looking forward to helping you on yours.
