been  pretty busy.  I celebrated my first year anniversary of being smoke free on April 22nd. It was a great day and I'm so proud of myself. Not once have I looked back! It's been the easiest, most pleasurable year of my life with regards to breaking that habit. I do not think that I would be smoke free today if it weren't for Vapor4Life and the electronic cigarette. I completed my first 5K on March 24th. It was an awesome experience. I did not run the whole time but I wasn't last! Out of 900+ runners and walkers I placed 50th in my age group and 552nd overall. I participated and observed. I got a lot of great ideas for the 5K I'm hosting next year in memory of my mom. I also raised over $1,000 for a charity walk for Lupus Research in Georgia. That event was on April 28th. I walked in memory of my mom. Even though she did not have Lupus, it was one of the many auto immune diseases that her doctors had considered for her as a diagnosis. The walk was more of a 2.5 mile parade, not a race. It was extremely gratifying to be a part of this endeavor for Lupus. We raised over $400 thousand dollars. Running is hard for me. I won't lie. challenge but I love it! Its also hard to make time for your workouts. Excuses try to wean into your mind and keep you from doing what you need to do. So that being said, I haven't been as consistent as I want to be but I'm still trucking! I hope you are too!
