So, I've been working for Vapor4Life for a little over two years now, and I've come a very long way from when I started. A few days ago, I was thinking about my journey and how much I owe my life to Vapor4Life. For those of you who don't know my story, I'll give you a little insight.
I started smoking back in high school, for a couple of reasons actually. I was playing football and half of my teammates also played baseball and would "dip". I thought dipping was friggin' nasty but everyone kept telling me about the rush they'd feel from the nicotine and how it helped them "go one more play". So, my bright idea was to pick up smoking! But this wasn't the only driving force. Around this time, 16-year-old Brandon was also seeing a young lady, who, how can I put this....she wasn't so "faithful" and I ended up catching her with my neighbor one day after practice. Yeah. It was a rough time for me but I found my solace in cigarettes. My close friends smoked, so I figured, with trying to get ahead with a "rush" in football, and trying to ease the stress from my first major break-up, smoking was the key to my escape. If only I could go back in time and slap the hell out of my 16-year-old self!
In a few years, I was off to college. I kept the smoking habit and I knew things were bad when I joined my Fraternity and I had my first encounter with "Greek Football". It was a league we had in the Fall with all the Greek houses, men and women included, on campus. As a former football athlete, I immediately jumped at the opportunity. In our first game, I could barely stay on the field for one drive. I needed a constant breather and I knew, cigarettes had got me. Could cigarettes really have ruined me in just a couple of years? The answer? Yes.
After I couldn't take being out of shape, I told myself, "I'm getting off this crap." (Don't we all say this?). I tried the patches, the nicotine gum and even therapy! Nothing worked and the evil that is cigarettes still had control over me.
While in school, I was lucky enough to start an internship with Vapor4Life. As a smoker who'd all but given up on quitting, this all sounded like a dream job. My first day comes and already I was itching for a smoke. Finally, I'm greeted by the owner, Steve
, and he hands me a bag of batteries and cartomizers. At the time, my first reaction was, "What the hell is this?" I was intrigued, but not yet sold. "These batteries and plastic stuff is supposed to help me switch?" I tried it and thought, "Oh man! Could this be my way of finally breaking the habit?!"
Eventually, I'd smoke a couple cigarettes after work and only 5-7 on the weekend. I was getting my nic fix at work, so why did I need to smoke? I noticed too, when I would smoke, I could start tasting the tobacco and the ash again. It was horrible! That was the day I knew I was done with cigarettes. I wasn't planning on it, but I thank Vapor4Life for saving my life and helping me switch to e-cigarettes. I've been vaping
consistently for almost two years now and I feel great!
I wake up feeling refreshed again! I don't cough up anything like I used to. I started working out again, in hopes of getting back to my track days. Vaping has given me a new meaning to life and the biggest gift it gave me was control. I finally feel like I have control of my addiction and I'm no longer a slave to cigarettes. Thank you Steve and Vapor4Life, I'm forever in your debt!
