Smok Novo versus Smok Novo 2
The Smok Novo 2 is a substantial upgrade over its predecessor the Smok Novo. Although essentially the same size and weight, the battery has been upgraded from 450 to 800mAh, and the maximum output has been boosted from 16 to 25w.
Despite this beefing up, it is literally at the opposite end of the spectrum when compared with Smok’s other recent release: the Smok TFV16. This tank actually weighs more than a Smok Novo, and anyone attempting to vape nic salts out of that cloud chucking monster would surely rue the day.
Smok Vape Pods
The original Smok Novo is a wildly successful vape pod kit, ideal for mouth to lung vaping and nic salts. The Novo 2 is laser focused on providing that same satisfying vaping experience, but with upgrades to the hardware and coil selection.

Visually, the Smok Novo 2 can be distinguished from the Smok Novo by its USB charger port placement. It was located on the side of the original Novo and is now located at the base of the Novo 2. Another visual difference is that the original Novo used Smok’s cobra skin color pattern, where the Novo 2 has adopted the familiar color splashed livery that can be found on the Smok Trinity Alpha.
Smok Novo 2
In a nod to compatibility, all four of the previous generation Novo pods are compatible with the Novo 2. This is nice if you have a personal favorite Novo pod or a several unused pods on hand. But keep in mind that the newer generation of Novo 2 pods provide a huge upgrades in performance and usability.

Smok Novo 2 Appearance
The Smok Novo 2 is compact device that easily fits in the palm of your hand. It is light without feeling cheap, and extremely discrete. The pearlescent finish gives the Novo 2 a familiar and high quality feel. The mouthpiece is identical to previous generation Novo. If you loved the original Novo, and are looking for a replacement. There is no reason not to upgrade to a Novo 2.
Smok Novo 2 Performance
Unlike its stablemate the slightly larger Smok Nord, Smok Novo 2 pods have preinstalled coils that are noticeably smaller. This restriction gives the Novo 2 the same tight draw and flavor density that made the original Novo a smash hit. The Smok Novo 2 addresses concerns about potential leaking with an ingenious solution. There are grooved channels in the Novo 2 that lock in condensation and also enhance airflow. Spitback has also been addressed with improved coil designs, and the possibility of setting off the Novo 2 in your pocket has been reduced by the superior airflow design.
Smok Novo 2 Pods
Although all 4 pod choices from the original Novo are compatible with the Novo 2, the new pod and coil designs are major upgrades. Apart from reduced spit back and leaking, Novo 2 pods have much larger wicking ports which will extend coil life and prevent dry hits.
The Smok Novo 2 kit comes with two pods. A 1ohm mesh and a 1.4ohm dual coil design for mouth to lung vaping. Also available is 1.4ohm quartz coil pod.
The new 1.4ohm dual coil was designed with nic salt and mouth to lung vapers in mind. It has a very restrictive draw, and delivers a sturdy throat kick with plenty of flavor. This pod embodies what the original Novo was all about. Great flavor, throat kick and efficiency.
Anyone who has been frustrated fumbling with tiny vape pod juice ports will be happy to learn that the The Novo 2 pods are quite easy to fill. The sidefill port has been increased in size, and the rubber plug is more easily manipulated than the original Novo. The pods themselves snap firmly into place.
The battery life of the 800mAh battery in the Smok Novo 2 can be tracked on the battery life indicator. The Novo 2 has built in short circuit protection, low voltage protection an 8 second cutoff.
The Smok Novo comes in 8 color schemes, ranging from the subdued and subtle to color splashed and lurid.
Why to Choose the Smok Novo 2?
If you are in the market for a flexible, autodraw vape pod, the Novo 2 clicks all the right boxes. It has a wealth of pod options and is capable of providing direct to lung and restricted mouth to lung vaping, depending on the coil you choose.

Serious Vape Pod Competition
