Mr Salt E Mint versus I Love Salts Spearmint
This is a clash of titans. Two of the biggest names in nic salt vaping and their flagship mint flavors. As mint and menthol flavors are the most popular with adult nic salt vapers, these are sales kings. So which of these two is better? A simple question without a definitive answer as preferences are subjective. But first, how did we get here? How did mint flavored nic salts come to dominate the industry.
Vaping preferences have changed over the course of the last several years. The emergence of nic salts representing the biggest game changer of all. Small mouth to lung devices, specifically vape pods, were optimized for these smooth but far more potent eliquids. Higher nicotine strength means less vapor is required for a satisfying experience. Less vapor also means less eliquid burned and battery power required. The proliferation of smaller ecigs and new refillable vape pod kit designs was inevitable.
Nic salts allow for higher concentrations of nicotine because they have a lower pH. Freebase nicotine at the levels found in most nic salts would be unpleasant and even intolerable. For more information, check out our feature: Intro to Nic Salts.
Nic salts are not suitable for use in more powerful mods and with subohm coils. They are designed for low wattage devices and coils with higher resistance.
The smoothness of nic salt ejuice formulas lent itself to ice and menthol flavors as well. In an earlier deep-dive, we reviewed the best mint nic salt eliquids. These eliquids all brought a cooling effect on inhale and exhale. Sweetness levels varied some but they were all great Juul Mint alternatives, which had been the most popular vaping product with adult vapers until it was pulled from the market in 2019. Today we are going to look at two top selling mint nic salts.
While you can’t go wrong with either, there are enough differences where most vapers will have a personal preference of one over the other. But there are a lot of similarities. Both rely on a sweet spearmint flavor profile.
Mint Mr Salt E is a 60/40 VG/PG eliquid. That it leans towards VG heavy means the popular Mr Salt E Mint flavor has slightly better vapor production than its many rivals, with which a few exceptions have a 50/50 VG/PG ratio.
Established in 2014, Mr Salt-E nic salt eliquids are manufactured in a cutting edge facility in Kentucky by Chrystal Distribution.

Mint Mr Salt-E is a milder flavor than the Juul Mint with which it was formulated to compete several years back. It has a decent cooling effect. Mint Mr Salt-E is a very smooth flavor but the extra VG isn’t necessarily ideal in smaller refillable vape pod kits. Those who attempt to refill a Juul pod, certainly a less common expedient with no complimentary flavors available in the US market, will find the wicking is pushed to the limit by the thicker VG ejuice. Mr Salt E Mint comes in 2.5 and 4.5 percent nic strength.
The mildness of the mint also makes Mint Mr Salt-E an appealing flavor for menthol cigarette smokers, with a level mint kick akin to a Marlboro Smooth. If you are looking for a sweet and mellow mint, Mr Salt-E Mint should be on your short list.

I Love Salts ELiquids, a product of Mad Hatter Eliquids, has an extensive and versatile lineup of nic salts. I Love Salts has changed a few of their product names. Spearmint I Love Salts was previously known as Spearmint Gum. Here is list of the changes.

|Spearmint||Spearmint Gum||Sweet Spearmint|
|Strawberry Guava||Island Squeeze||Strawberry, Guava, Kiwi|

Spearmint I Love Salts is a 50/50 VG/PG blend, a more traditional ratio than the 60/40 VG/PG split found in Mr Salt-E Mint. This eliquid is perfect for just about any refillable vape pod kit and is available in 2.5 and 5.0 percent nic strength.
There are plenty of fruity-ice and sweet menthol flavors on the market but Spearmint I Love Salts is at or very near the front of the class in both flavor and popularity. Formerly known as Spearmint Gum, the sharpness and beauty of this flavor never wears out like a piece of overly chewed gum. It is strong from start to finish. The precision of the spearmint notes are simply awesome. This is a great all-day vape.
Light and refreshing, it keeps the taste buds intrigued without being too taxing. In the author’s experience, it also doesn’t tax coils quite as much as Mr Salt-E because it is a bit thinner with a higher amount of PG. Even if this does not end being your favorite mint nic salt, and it is the favorite of many, is solid and straightforward enough to serve as a great back-up.
While both flavors are delightful, I personally preferred Spearmint I Love Salts over Mr Salt-E Mint. You can’t really go wrong with either but I prefer the boldness and crispness of Spearmint.
