The Best Disposable Vapes
Update: With Juul Mango, Creme, Cucumber, Fruit Medley and Juul compatible pods no longer available, disposable vapes are now perhaps the best option for nic salt vapers looking for the flavors that adult vapers prefer.
Most adult vapers are simply looking for a simple and flavorful way to get their nicotine. Disposables are discrete, incredibly easy to use and there is no price tag penalty to be paid for the convenience they offer. They are autodraw devices that require no charging or filling. Nothing is easier to vape.
Disposable vapes were once viewed as transitional devices for smokers looking to dip their toe in the vaping pool. Advances in wicking and ejuice flavors, and the willingness of customers to pay a premium for the convenience of a prefilled device, have made them a viable alternative to vape pods.
With mouth to lung and restricted vaping coming back into vogue, expect to see even more competition in the disposable vape field. The market seems to prefer potent ejuice and smaller clouds. The difference between mouth to lung and direct to lung vaping is discussed here.
To sweeten the pot further, disposables still offer the flavors that adults prefer. Although Juul Mint, the most popular flavor with minors, remains on the market, Juul has pulled their Mango, Crème, Cucumber and Fruit Medley flavors.
This was done in response to the teen vaping epidemic. Flavor options have been further reduced by the removal of Juul compatible pods from the US market. If you are looking to fill the void left by the removal of these flavors and Juul compatible pods from the market, we recommend checking out the following deep dives:
Thanks to the proliferation of potent nic salt vape juice, disposable vape devices are able to provide an authentic experience that can satisfy discerning vapers and former smokers.
Prefilled vape pod kits are still a cheaper option than disposables, check out our Top Ten Juul Alternatives feature. For juice selection and value, a refillable vape pod, or any other refillable device like a vape mod will still have the edge.
But if you use prefilled vape pods, or are looking for a disposable vape for when you travel or emergency purposes, then a disposable may be your best option.
Despite being single use, each of these disposable vapes is actually cheaper to operate than a Juul. And often by a wide margin.
Now let us take a closer look at some of the best disposable vapes on the market and see which one is right for you. Here is the tale of the tape.
Disposable Vape Technology
With the exception of the Posh Plus, most disposable vapes fall into one of two categories. There are stick style disposables and mini disposable vapes.
Mini disposable vapes generally have a more open hit but a lower ejuice capacity. They are able to obtain their small size by placing the battery parallel to the the ejuice reservoir. Stick vapes place the battery beneath the polyfill.
The Stig, Mojo and Twst are therefore virtually identical in dimensions and design. At the base of the juice pod is the wicking and coil. Personal preference will be based almost entirely on flavor with these designs because the hardware is just that similar.
Despite being smaller, mini disposable vapes generally have a much larger mouthpiece than a stick disposable. But the air flow does not span across the entire mouthpiece. Take a look inside and you see only a pin sized hole connected directly to the ejuice tank, coil combination on the left side of the device. Despite this offset design, minis generally have a looser draw than stick disposables. But this can vary by brand.
The Zaero and Posh are exemplars of the stick style disposable. Most disposable vapes fall into this category. Instead of an enclosed plastic pod, both utilize a polyfill material that is saturated with ejuice.
This is a similar approach to a classic ecig and gives the Zaero and Posh a nice and tight draw. The flavor and authenticity of the polyfill approach is tough to argue with. Stick disposables deliver crystal clear flavor and have a more sophisticated form factor. They may not be any fancier than a mini vape but they have a nicer heft and feel.
The Zaero and other stick disposables have a series of plastic seals and baffles in mouthpiece to avoid spitback or leakage.
The Posh Plus is currently a category of one. It has a much larger battery than either the mini or stick disposables, with 480mAh of battery life. It also has a different form factor. It is cylindrical and wider than a classic stick disposable.
The Posh Plus uses a polyfill like the stick style disposables but it is a design that more closely mimics an eGo cartomizer or the Smileomizer on a Vapor Zeus. The greater diameter of the Posh Plus pushes the ejuice capacity up to 2ml.
The long lasting and harder hitting Posh Plus certainly works well. Expect to see more of these bigger disposables in the future.
Vape Pod versus Polyfill
With the exception of the new Posh Plus, all of the disposables reviewed have similar ejuice and battery power. The Posh Plus has gone a different route. Rather than a polyfill wrap or cylindrical pod, both pictured above, it uses a polyfill mesh that is quite similar to a Vapor Zeus or eGo style cartomizer.
With a wide center tube, the Posh Plus actually has a more open draw than a classic e-cig. With 450mAh, it is comparable to small e-cig starter kit from the beginning of the decade. It could be argued that Posh Plus is over engineered, as it would not be difficult to refill the polyfill for multiple uses if the battery was rechargeable.
Best Disposable Vapes
The Zaero Disposable Vape is a customizable ecigarette that gives you the flexibility to choose the nicotine level that you need. Each Zaero contains 1.8ml of vape juice and is good for at least 200 puffs. The total number depends heavily on how long you inhale each puff.
The disposable Zaero also has plenty of flavors to choose from: Banana, Tobacco, Menthol, Blue Raspberry, Blueberry Lemonade, Grape and Chocolate.
The Zaero Disposable Vape offers the flexibility of an ecig or disposable vape pod kit, while retaining the convenience of a disposable vape.
There is a nicotine free Zaero disposable. The Zaero also comes in 1.8, 3 and 5 percent nic strength. These are nic salt formulas, and quite smooth and flavorful. The Zaero provides a very sophisticated experience, with a tight draw and bright flavors.
With a 280mAh battery, each compact Zaero disposable delivers plenty of vaping enjoyment, matching the Posh Vape in capacity and battery life. Only the larger Posh Plus has a larger vape juice capacity and battery life.
The Zaero is a perfect option for beginning vapers looking for a starter kit and experienced vapers looking for convenience and performance.
There are several new faces on the block, but if you are looking for a vaping experience that is most akin to smoking, the classic V4L cigalike disposable is the device for you. It is the only disposable on the list that maintains the classic form of a cigalike and uses freebase nicotine.
The use of freebase nicotine means that it doesn’t have quite the potency of its rivals, 3.6 percent versus an average of 5 percent for most other disposables. But it freebase nicotine at this strength has a more authentic throat hit.
If you are looking for a disposable that mimics the smoking experience, this makes the Vapor4Life disposable e-cig a great place to start. Rated as the best disposable e-cig by Spinfuel and Vapor Digest magazines, this distinctively designed disposable resembles an actual cigarette.
V4L disposables are great starter device for former smokers and very handy to keep on hand for emergency, or travel purposes. Despite their diminutive size, this disposable is quite satisfying to use.
The V4L Disposable uses a polyfill rather than a tank, which makes it similar in the technology department to a Posh. But it has a tighter airtube and a more restrictive hit. Although it does give up a bit in the nicotine potency department, it
Ergonomically, the device looks exactly like a cigarette. It has similar weighting, and it was designed to have a draw that mirrors a filtered, combustible cigarette.
Flavor matter. The V4L is available as the wildly popular and wintery Peppermint disposable vape. The V4L disposable is also available in an authentic strong Tobacco and Menthol flavors. The Coffee makes a perfect breakfast vape, but if fruit is more your speed, the Watermelon disposable vape is sweet and refreshing.
Sea Air Disposable
If you are looking for the longest lasting disposable, look no further. The Sea Air is loaded with 2.6ml of nic salt ejuice, strength 5 percent, and is powered by a 450mAh battery.
Despite its capacity, the Sea Air is still compact and easy to carry. It is a card style vape, possibly inspired by the Suorin Air Plus or Suorin Air. About a quarter inch deep, it is not much bigger than a stack of 3 credit cards.
Performance wise, the Sea Air really delivers. The flavors are bright and crystal clear. The Sea Air is available in eight flavors. There is a lightly mentholated Red Apple Sea Air, a candied Green Apple Sea Air, Orange Soda, Mango, Mint, Peach Ice, Pineapple and Strawberry Watermelon.
The Posh disposable vape is a perfect device for beginning vapers, but it will never be mistaken for some cheap gas station disposable. The Posh is a great Juul alternative, as the stick form factor closely mirrors the popular vape pod kit.
You will be impressed with the metallic finish and sleek shape. It looks a lot like some of the big prefilled vape pods on the market, and with 1.8ml of nic salt ejuice it has over double the capacity of a Juul. Like the other stick disposables on the list, the flavors are clean and delightful.
The Posh is not just a pretty face. The mouthpiece is nicely shaped and has two restricted openings. The Posh is an autodraw and provides a satisfying vaping experience.
Pod users and mouth to lung vapers will love how much flavor the line of the Posh line of disposable vapes generates. Made by Fuma, an established manufacturer of disposable vapes, it relies on a polyfill wrap and heating element design. Powered by a 280mAh battery, it is over-engineered to make sure that you are out of ejuice before you are out of battery juice.
If you accept the conventional wisdom that a Juul is equivalent to a pack of cigarettes, the Posh would be akin to over two. It contains more than twice as much ejuice as a Juul, and the ejuice itself is 20 percent more potent. If you are looking to ratchet down the nicotine a bit, the Zaero disposable relies on similar technology but comes in four nicotine strengths.
The Posh is available in eight strong flavors of 6% nic salt ejuice: Frozen Grape, Blueberry Ice, Cool Melon, Lush Ice, Mango Frost and Pineapple Slush. Despite the menthol themed names like Lush Ice, only the Blue Berry Ice delivers a strong menthol taste. The number of Puffs you will get from a Posh will vary greatly, depending on how deeply you inhale, but you should be able to get at least 200.
Of all the flavors tested, my personal favorite was Posh Pineapple Slush.
The newest entrant on the disposable vape scene, the Posh Plus has a 2ml ejuice capacity and a massive 450mAh battery. The greater vape juice and battery capacity of the Posh Plus translates into a longer lasting disposable.
The flavor is also tremendous. It has a cylindrical form factor and nicely tapered mouthpiece as well. It has a bit looser draw than the original Posh and Zaero. It has also better vapor production. The technology used is similar to a Smileomizer, a cylindrical polyfill with a narrow airflow. Obviously, it is not refillable but this is a format that works.
The cinnamon infused Fireball Posh Plus, Pina Colada, Tobacco Mint, Frosted Apple, Frozen Strawberry, Mint Berry, and delightful Cream Brulee make for a solid flavor lineup.
The Posh Plus Cream Brulee deserves special notice as it is one of the Best Juul Creme alternatives on the market. Rich and flavorful, this is an unusually strong dessert vape in a disposable market that is dominated by fruit and fruit-menthol blends.
Twist Eliquids has proven they can keep up with the twists and turns of an ever changing vape market. They made their name with a family of amazing high VG ejuices based on summery fruit flavors. When vapers began to gravitate towards vape pods, their family of Twst Salts seamlessly adapted these same bright flavor profiles into a family of potent TWST Salts.
Now that vapers are increasingly turning to disposables, Twst is at it again with their new Twst Disposable.
The TWST Disposable is a tiny, thumb-sized disposable. Similar to a Myle Mini, Stig or Mojo, it is less than 3 inches long and contains 1ml of Twst’s acclaimed nic salt vape juice. There are four flavors to choose from and the disposable has a nic strength of 5 percent.
If you love the amazing flavors of Twst Eliquids, and most vapers do, it is worth checking out this compact and flavorful disposable vape. It has a tight draw and the flavors are clear and complex. The Twst Disposable is available in Pink Punch Lemonade, Iced Pink Punch Lemonade, Iced Madness and Iced Fruit Punch. Iced Madness is a classic lush ice flavor that may be the new standard bearer in the crowded menthol watermelon field.
The Stig Disposable Vape Pod is a relative new comer, but it is quite impressive. Check out our complete review of the Stig here. The first thing you notice about the Stig is how small it is, under 3 inches. Despite its small footprint, it still manages to pack in 1.2ml of nic salt ejuice, which has a strength of 6 percent.
Admittedly, the Stig is not quite as attractive as the metallic Posh. It also has a smaller juice capacity, the manufacturer rates the Stig at 270 puffs. It contains 70 percent more ejuice than a Juul but the number of puffs you get will depend on how deeply you inhale.
But since these are disposables, it is up to you to determine how much value you place in appearance versus design. The Stig is a close relative of the Mojo and Z-Pen. All of these devices store their vape juice in a cylindrical tube. At the bottom of the tube is the wicking and coil. Whether you prefer the performance of the polyfill disposables like the Vapor4Life disposable and Posh is entirely subjective. Both designs work quite well.
Despite its small size, generates a robust amount of vapor, and the flavor is crystal clear. It is also exceedingly light. Not that the other disposables reviewed here are large, in fact the V4L disposable is smaller still, but the Stig is certainly a very discrete device. The laying the battery parallel to the juice and coils is a real space saver.
We don’t encourage vaping where you are not supposed to, check out our guide to vaping etiquette for some basic pointers, but realize that there are many times that stealth vaping is preferable to whipping out a mod the size of a service revolver and unleashing rock concert worthy fog clouds. The Stig is quite capable of delivering an outstanding restricted and mouth to lung vaping experience.
As has been mentioned above, the Stig, Mojo and Z-Pen rely on a similar design. So your personal preference may boil down to the flavors offered. The Stig has a strong lineup. VGod formulated the Lush Ice, Stig Iced Mango Bomb, and Cubano. If you are a smoker or love tobacco ejuices, Stig VGod Cubano is pretty darn solid flavor.
SaltNic provided the Mighty Mint and the Tropical Mango. My favorite flavor was the Stig Mighty Mint, but the consensus of the office was that
Stig Lush Ice, a delightful watermelon menthol, was the standout flavor.
The Mojo Vape bears more than a passing resemblance to fellow mini vapes like the Stig, Twst, Myle Mini and Z-Pen.
We do not recommend breaking the Mojo open. But if you were to do so, you would discover that the battery is one side and the ejuice pod is located on the other.
All of the mini disposable vapes are within a couple millimeters in size and 1ml in juice capacity. They are a bit smaller physically and have less capacity than the stick shaped disposables. But they are shorter, which may be a feature.
The may feel a bitter cheaper as their shell is plastic rather than metallic, but the innards are certainly comparable in quality. In fact, using a pod instead of polyfill probably has a bit of a price premium attached but this is not reflected in the price tag.
The Mojo has more colorful and attractive livery than the Stig, Myle Mini or Twst. This may make it a less discrete option. It has a slightly more angular design.
And the basic design simply works. The Mojo disposable vape is an authentic alternative to conventional cigarettes. Featuring nine solid flavors, Mojo pods deliver a strong throat hit and restrictive draw that heavy smokers will appreciate.
With 1.2ml of 5.0% nic salt vape juice (a Juul holds only 0.7ml), each Mojo is equivalent to a pack of cigarettes. There is a solid Mojo Tobacco flavor and an icy Mojo Menthol. Both of which are unapologetically aimed at current smokers. The Mojo is available with three additional flavors: Cool Melon, Lemon Dessert and Pineapple Ice. I am a fan of the Mojo Lemon Dessert, which evens out the tartness of lemon with a sweet, almost custardy, exhale. Strawberry, Peach, Grape and of the obligatory mango.
Adopting the familiar shape of a Juul, the SeaStix also has a nic strength of 5 percent. Of equal concern to discerning vapers, it also delivers amazing flavor and a tight draw. It is easy to pick a Sea Stix out in the crowd. They are covered in intricate patterns and colors. This makes them easy to pick out at a vape shop but may not be what a former smoker is looking for.
We recommend against stealth vaping, check out our guide to Guide to Vaping Etiquette for some basic ground rules we recommend. In a sense, the Sea Stix is self-regulating in this regard. Its flashy and colorful appearance more or less precludes any sneaky vaping in vaping.
The ejuice capacity of 1.2ml is substantially larger than a Juul and it is available in 8 flavors. There is the obligatory Sea Stix Mint and Lush Ice. There are two lemonade Sea Stix flavors: Sea Stix Pink Lemonade and Sea Stix Pomegranate Lemonade. Both are supremely balanced with sweet and tart flavors.
Another beverage flavor, Pina Colada is the creamiest Sea Stix flavor. Blue Slushie delivers a cool flavor without relying on menthol. Passion Fruit Orange Guava skirts the line of beverage and fruit vape, while the bright and inviting Sweet Strawberry is a classic fruit flavored vape. null
The size difference is literally a millimeter in each direction. But it has two crucial advantages. The first is that it has an ejuice capacity of 1.2ml, versus 0.7 for a Juul Pod. The second advantage is that it has a much wider range of flavors. Blow Vape Stix have a nic strength of 5 percent.
Much like the Sea Stix, the Blow Stix stands out from the other stick style disposables with colorful designs. These graphic art depictions of the flavor contained within are very attractive and tasteful, although not particularly discrete.
Blow Vape Stix also stick out on the flavor front. Blow Vape Stix Deeeewy is the standout. It was designed to capture the flavor of a certain green citrus soda pop not named Mello Yello. Mission accomplished. The mysterious and unmistakable blend of citrus fruits is present and it has an almost carbonated mouthfeel. It has more than enough tartness to avoid becoming a corn syrupy mess and the menthol finish is superlative.
The Blow Stix Pineapple Ice is also exceptional and Blow Vape Stix Mango is a strong Juul Mango alternative. Blow Disposable Vape Stix are also available in Green Apple, Grape Ice, and a soothing Blueberry Raspberry.
Disposable vapes make a great Juul alternative, so it is not too much of surprise that the former manufacturer of Ziip Pods has thrown their hat in the disposables ring. Their previous design, the Z-Pen, was akin to Mojo or Stig in size. For their new disposable vape, the ZPod, they have gone the traditional stick disposable route.
This is actually a substantial and impressive device. The Lychee is an especially enjoyable flavor. More rounded and slightly bulkier than the average stick style disposable, the ZPod merits serious consideration for best in class. It feels high quality and can generate a surprising amount of vapor when pushed hard. But it does not require much pushing as it has nic strength of 6 percent and an ejuice capacity of 1.4ml.
With an outstanding selection of flavors and great performance, anyone looking for a Juul alternative will want to check out the Ziip Pods ZPod Disposable.
The colorful livery of the Mr Vapor Disposable fits in well with their lineup of bright fruit flavors. Relying on the time tested form factor that the Posh, Zaero, Sea Stix and Juul share, Mr Vapor also has a sturdy draw and plenty of flavor. For fans of cool mint, there is a Blueberry Menthol flavor which blends complex berry notes and icy chill perfectly.
For fans of fruit vapes, Mr Vapor has a veritable cornucopia of flavor options: Blue Raspberry, Watermelon, Strawberry Kiwi, Pineapple Orange, passion Fruit Orange Guava, Mango, Strawberry and Peach. Mr Vapor Disposables have an ejuice capacity of 1.3ml, or about this that of a Juul. The nic strength is 5 percent, which makes this a satisfying alternative to a pack of combustible cigarettes.
The last of our stick shaped disposable vapes, the EonStik shares the essential shape as a Juul, Posh, Zaero, Mr Vapor, Sea Stix and Puff Bar. What makes the EonStik Disposable stick out is the nic strength of 6.8 percent. This is more than the 6 percent level found in the Posh and Posh Plus, and significantly more than the 5 percent maximum strength found in most other disposables and an actual Juul. The EonStik has a wide range of flavors too.
EonStik Mango is a perfect Juul Mango Alternative and EonStik Mango fills much the same role. Eon has a classic Lush Ice and a mint free watermelon as well. Berry Gelato and Pomegranate are two less common but delightful flavors. Green Apple, Citrus, Strawberry, Blueberry, Pink Lemonade, Pineapple and Tobacco round out the 13 flavor lineup.
Like the Stig and Mojo, the Myle Mini is a diminutive disposable vape. But don’t judge this disposable by its size. It delivers the full throated flavor and vaping satisfaction that you expect from a modern ecig. The Myle Mini is perfectly shaped for discrete usage and brings a mint heavy lineup to the table: Iced Mint, Iced Watermelon, Iced Quadberry and Iced Mango. Each flavor is superlative, delivers impressive nuance and balance. Myle Minis are sold in packs of two. Each is approximately equivalent to pack of cigarettes and contains 1.2ml of nic salt vape juice. The nic strength is 5 percent.
The Nano Disposable Vape has a unique and rounded look for a disposable. Although small, it has nicely articulated mouthpiece and the a general feeling of quality surrounds the product. Inside each Nano is an impressive 1.5ml of nic salt ejuice. Nano went with a nic strength of 4.9 percent and there are six flavors to choose from. Nano says their disposable is good for up to 400 puffs but this seems wildly optimistic. That said, it has over twice the ejuice capacity of a Juul and the duration of your puffs can have a huge impact on the total number. A four second drag will burn more than 4 times as much vape juice as a one second drag when you factor in ramp up time for the heating element.
The reasoning behind the Plus Pods Disposable is readily apparent. This is a stick style disposable that packs a 6 percent nicotine punch and is available in ten flavors. As far as a Juul alternative goes, it covers all the bases. It is even available in a delightful mango flavor.
The Plus Pods Disposable contains 1.2ml of nic salt vape juice, which combined with the fairly high nic strength, makes this convenient device equivalent to at least a pack of cigarettes.
Another colorful stick style disposable, the Boss Vapes Disposable is available in four amazing flavors and contains 1.2ml of 5 percent strength nic salt.
All of the flavors are fruity. The Lush Ice belongs in the discussion in particularly crowded category, as it delivers a punchy and frigid vaping experience. The Mango boss is a very authentic and fruit-centric alternative to Juul Mango.
You may have detected a theme here. The final entrant, the Z-Pen Vape, closely resembles the Mojo and Stig on paper and in person. It is a smidge longer, which gives it a greater juice capacity, but is still a total feather weight. The Z-Pen tested did seem to have a tighter draw than the Stig and Mojo. This is perhaps due to its greater length.
Remove the markings and it would be tough to tell the Stig and Z-Pen apart in a police lineup. But they offer a totally different constellation of flavor choices. The Stig gives up capacity, but has more potent nic salt ejuice. Whether this is a feature or not is entirely dependent on the user.
Where the Posh and V4L disposable provide totally different user experiences, the V4L providing an experience that more closely resembles smoking and the Posh doing a commendable prefilled pod impersonation, the Z-Pen, Mojo and Stig are quite evenly matched.
I am a mark for Strawberry Milk Ziip Pods, and Vapor Titan Strawberry cartridges, So for me, it is easy to pick my favorite: the Z-Pen Strawberry Milk. I also prefer the Z-Pen’s tighter draw. But it is a tight race. If you prefer one flavor over the other, it is easy to make the case for that disposable vape. But this is hardly an intractable issue. These are disposables. None of them will last forever, so it is easy to mix and match, and compare the various flavors head to head.
